Here's a poser for you.....just for one game, the second leg.

Do you think he had any impact on the development both as players and men of Henderson and Pickford?

Then, probably, and if they said he had, then who is to argue with then.

A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then and there has been nothing to suggest he can successfully run a first team squad. Add to that, his affiliation with Donald and (for me) his legacy is somewhat tarnished at the football club.

What's the alternative? The whole team sits even deeper to avoid exposing our midfielders to any sort of pace and energy?

Aye, I'm sure that would have gone down really well.
I totally agree. It’s why I’m beginning to have a tiny tiny tiny bit more sympathy with Parkinson. Exactly what his plan was. Cause you’re right- that is the alternative and it sort of worked to an extent for him. Even then with 7/8 defenders on the pitch we contrived to Chuck the ball in our own net on plenty of occassionsBut I saw victories under him that depressed me more than last nights defeat playing in that style.

No matter which way I look at it I can’t get past the playing squad as being the issue

If you put Johnson on gardening leave and asked Kevin Ball to attempt to motivate that group of players ahead of the Lincoln game would you be more or less confident that we'd overturn the defecit.

One game only, no suggestion of any longer term commitment.

Big Sam just resigned

its absolutely nothing to do with “motivation”, the plsyers tried last night

Can we not rent Roy Keane for one game and give him a heavy-duty fuck-off sized hairdryer to take into the dressing room?
Some sticking up for LJ and others deriding Keane. I know one thing, if they had played like that under Keane, they wouldn’t of dared come back off the pitch. The standards between these two are chalk and cheese.

No

As I say though, and based on the example I posted, it's not about running a first team squad for anything other than one game. In my opinion the difference between Di Canio's last game and Ball's first (of only 3) games was like night and day. I appreciate it won't happen, its purely hypothetical, to guauge whether fans think Johnson can't get his team up for it for whatever reason. What worried me on his initial appointment was that there was no new manager bounce. Whatever he was saying at the time to the players made no difference and being honest it hasn't since that day.

Id rather just forfeit the game
Atleast are bank holiday weekend won't be effed up

Yeah that first match against Wigan.... No away wins bottom of the league and yet he couldnt even get a draw.... That run we went on flattered to deceive... The likes of Portsmouth and Ipswich away both those teams were on bad runs and subsequently sacked their managers.... And then after Oxford at home 3pts off top spot with 2 in hand and we royally fucked it up..... Says it all and most on here predicted where we would be

I’m no fan of LJ, never been but what he has, is more than Ball.
Ultimately, it boils down to having an extremely limited set of footballers. We are pedestrian in our play.
Win on Saturday and I will be amazed if we turn Blackpool over, however, it isn’t done till it is.
Ball though, not for me.

why would they give a fuck what kevin ball says, thinks or does, if they know he is not staying?

The worst manager in our history together with the worst players in our history is not a good situation.

Hopefully KLD and the new managment structure will sort this mess out in the summer.

Johnson and 95% of the players can go today and we play some young kids on Saturday.

Unbelievable that there really is a desperation/determination amongst some people, to pin this on Johnson.

Massive summer for the recruitment team.

I find it unbelievable that some still think Johnson can evade any blame for our current predicament.
I remind you that our current run is W1, D4, L5, down there among the worst runs in our history.

League 1 is full of limited players, but we (believe it or not) have some of the better ones.
The manager's job is to put together a team with a formation and tactics that minimises the limitations of the players and maximises their abilities, then drill this into the players so they know their roles and responsibilities, then play those effin formation and tactics.

LJ looks like the drunk trying to get his key in the door when he's choosing who and how to play.
He's tried so many permutations and combinations but can't decide on the right one, and even when he gets a result, he changes everything next time out.

I have no confidence in LJ being involved in recruitment for next season.
Get rid of him now and recruit a manager who knows how he wants to play and recruit the payers to match that.
The alternative is another sacking in October (LJ has shown in 4 jobs now that he can't produce a consistently winning side) and another poor sod trying to manage someone else's squad.

Personally I'd rather put your strategy in place in the Championship so I'd like to give the return leg against Lincoln everything we have.

We aren't being overrun in midfield because our midfielders lack motivation. We're being overrun in midfield because our midfielders are - to a man - shit, slow, limited plodders. Charlie Wyke isn't unable to trap a bag of cement because he lacks motivation. He can't trap a back of cement because he's an awful footballer. It isn't a lack of motivation that made Bailey Wright miss a free header from six yards out. It's not a lack of motivation that turned Flanagan and Burge into the football Keystone Cops. More motivation isn't going turn either Hume or McFadzean in to a presentable defender.

This shite group of players has failed repeatedly for three years, under three managers. Our current position has next to nothing to do with managers. We need better players. Plain and simple.

Massive summer for the recruitment team.

Ill be happy to not blame Johnson as long as we dont resign any of those midfielders in the summer and we actually, finally commit to young upcoming players rather than 'theyve been promoted before and failed at the level above' at best players.

Weve signed 3 players in 3 years that seemed to be up and coming players and Onien and Willis have been two of our better players. The other one was dobson which shows you cant always succeed doing it

As regards Dobson they should have sent the club osteopath to watch him and he'd have knocked it back on the basis that the lad either has two dislocated hips or a genetic abnormality.
