Around the Shires....

Your favourite cricketer celebrates his 45th birthday today. Freakish!
Honestly mate it blows my tiny mind

it’s the equivalent of say... I dunno, Ian Bell deciding at 35 his right arm medium is canny useful then for the next ten years he is reinvented as a strike bowler and gradually drops down the batting order but opens the bowling with his little 68mph dobbers on a good line and length

Amazing how much this Yorkshire game has turned around! Northamptonshire throwing wickets away this morning. But looks like rain might help them.

And becomes one of the best bowlers in the country.. His average must be very respectable over the last many years

Derbyshire 93-9 against Notts - is the latter's winless run coming to an end?

MUST be. They’re now 135-1 in their second dig, a lead or 286 with 9 wickets left.

Meanwhile at the Oval, an even more one-sided game than at Chester-le-street.

Hampfrica 92
Surrey 304-2

Kent have lost inside two days at Glamorgan. Not even Darren Stevens could save them. Their record this season is abysmal, strange considering the supposed talent in their ranks.

It could be interesting to see how they fare next season if we get back to the normal two division structure given their 2019 performance (4th in Division One).
There’s an odd mix of scores this round
Watched the closing stages of your game just there, looked very very dark. Shaping up into being an epic that one though.

They've set Derbyshire 470 to win, they reached close on 23-0 and given there's still two days* left in the game I feel like that is a very sporting declaration.

*Forecast does look pretty wet in fairness.
