Witcher 3

I couldn't get into the older games. Might give them another try.

They're suuuuper clunky. Particularly the first one, it's really showing its age now, especially compared to modern games.

Second one is better, but still lacking compared to modern stuff. Especially the autosaving. I died a few times and would be suddenly back where I was an hour previously. I kept forgetting to mash quicksave too.

I enjoyed the stories though and looking forward to seeing how my choices impact 3. First one was definitely an exercise in patience.

Gameplay and story of 3 is tremendous although a mate of mine who's read the books hates it.

I know CDPR took a lot of liberties with the story across all three. I won't spoil the books for anyone who hasn't read them, but they essentially came up with their own story. Which might annoy purists.

I'm well excited for 3. Love open world's and RPGs and almost nobody has a bad word to say about 3, think your mate is the first.

Iirc it was the combat he didn't like. Took a while to get used to it but I liked the combat in the end.

Aye. A little red skull above their head if they are rock hard iirc.
Top stuff, I think the newer Sasso Creedos do similar where someone way above your level is clearly marked. Makes sense really.

Witcher 2 had a couple of moments when I'd clear a cave or similar, be wandering around looking for good loot, go round a corner and there's three golems, and of course my oils and potions have run out...
