Snooker thread

Higgins was playing some beautiful snooker earlier and he's certainly tempting at that price.

Robertson really impressed me last time out and it seems wrong that he doesn't have more Triple Crown titles to his name. He'll have his work cut out though.

Outsiders? I'm really keen to see how young Yan Bingtao does in this one. Ding and Hawkins as well.

There's obviously questions marks I think over the contention of Trump being one of the all time greats if he doesn't start winning more of the big ones soon. I don't fancy him for it this year.

It's a really hard one to call this year which speaks to the probability of a really good tournament. Always is mind, across all sport I rate the Snooker World Championship as being one of the best tournaments going.

Hawkins has a decent record at the crucible, this tournament is definitely up there with my top 5 sporting events of the year

Neil Robertson to win. The Thunder from down under to win his second title.
I’d prob go for Robertson if I was to bet (never do on snooker for some reason)

just can’t see trump doing it but who knows.
Also can’t count out that barrel of laughs that is the jester from Leicester

Well and truly backed myself in to a corner with Ding. I was convinced he was a World Champion in waiting when he won his first UK title, and have backed him for this every year since. 14 or 15 years of lost stakes I think. I don't think he will win, but I can't not carry on with my steady progession toward the cliff. Had a bit on e/w at 33's, not confident in the slightest.

I'd be very surprised if one of Trump, Robertson, O'Sullivan, or Selby didn't prevail, but thats hardly a bold call,
