I don't mind the numbers. Problem is that he overthinks and also changes up formations at the same time. The plan should be simply - 4-3-3 and change both wingers at 60 mins. Keep the shape but introduce energy and a different challenge.
 
A gutless and spineless performance with no passion from the players, Johnson doesn't seem to have a clue about team selection or tactics for that matter, and I don't believe all these players are 100% committed to the success of the club as most know they'd be fucked off anyway if we did happen to go up, and that's now become a massive IF.!! Harsh, but true unfortunately.
 
The very least one is entitled to expect from a professional footballer irrespective of ability is 100% effort.

No bottle no fight no togetherness (like we had just a few weeks back) indicates something seriously wrong behind the scenes. (Is the Maguire situation something that has upset the applecart?

Regardless, as far as l am concerned anybody not prepared to give EVERYTHING in the cause in EVERY game has no right to pull on the red and white shirt of Sunderland no matter what level we are playing at. Major clearout at end of season no matter what happens.

Putting on the “ever hopeful” head could it be that the stars have aligned, the fates have conspired or kismet that we will somehow make it through the playoffs and win at Wembley AGAIN simply because there won’t be fans there?

I just don’t know but Hull and Peterborough looked all but home and hosed and we still have to secure a playoff place for sure.

Very disappointing from where we were 3-4 games back but to make playoffs from where we were is still some progress and we might still go up although will need massive branch and root surgery either way.

Even the longest journey starts with a single step and all that......
 
We have gotten what we deserved tonight, ABSOLUTELY NOWT. I thought we had finished with the abject displays of Parkinson, but this is as bad as I have seen us all season when a team either bottom or as tonight fourth from bottom can take 6 points off us beggars belief.
I gave us the benefit of the doubt last Saturday as we created a lot of chances and should have had the game won before Charlton even scored, but not tonight we were just bloody awful.
Poor at the back, no creativity in the middle, and apart from Wyke's goal never looked like scoring. Some individuals need to look at their own effort (the legend that is Hume etc,), but most of all Johnson can't shirk his responsibility tonight (which he did on Saturday IMO), playing Mcgeady as a creative midfielder FFS, he is a left winger.Jones was found out tonight IMO, and whoever suggested Ross Stewart as a signing needs to give his heed a shake, the lad is Bambi on ice.
My glass is normally half full, but it is drained tonight, but keep the faith and bring on Blackpool.Haway the lads.
 
From the minute we went ahead we just went to pieces. Started very well and got the goal....that should be a platform to manage the game, why can’t we do it? Mentality?

it feels like games happen to us rather than us dictating them at times.

The four subs today just looked like desperation, rather than in pervious games where they looked proactive.

Its disappointing we aren’t going to push the top two but to be honest they don’t deserve better anything based on that performance.

we may end up seeing the play offs as last a roll of the dice rather than a consolation prize if we keep playing like that.

absolutely gutted but unfortunately this is classic SAFC.

Biggest thing for me is that with his chopping and changing he is he’s hoping he gets a performance out of McGeady in the middle instead of knowing you’ll get crosses, assists and goals if he plays from the left. For one example.

Parkinson is the epitome of lower league. The abject lack of any attacking pattern whatsoever was utterly embarrassing and a sign of his complete limitations as a coach. Same with Ross. Didn't even try to work out the problems that we had and got progressively worse and worse throughout his tenure. PArky for certain will never reach even the mediocre career heights that Johnson has achieved thus far. Depends on your opinion of the quality of mid-table SPL if you consider the same for Ross.

He came in mid season, with a lopsided squad, suffered a defensive injury crisis and for me he’s done/doing a decent job.

That doesn’t mean his selections and tactical set ups don’t frustrate the hell out of me but have a bit of perspective.

Lee Johnson isn’t to blame for the last three seasons and as difficult it is to see after the last to abject results he’s still moved us forward.

The frustration is the two wins in the last couple of game’s would have had us bang on the front foot

How has Lee Johnson moved us forward? What tangible evidence is there for that other than just saying it?

Performances haven’t been markedly better than seen under Parkinson and certainly not from when Ross is in charge. We’ve had a good run of results, most of them ground out, and are now back to being the same amount (if not more) points behind the top two than when he arrived. The much talked about data also doesn’t point to significant improvements.

Having faith in him is one thing but these statements about moving us forward are exactly that, just statements
