Beer gardens in the town?

Just heard The Rabbit is changing into a sports bar? They'll have to get Sky put in if that's the case 😄
Said this before. Sports bars are a gamble. I love a sports bar mind. However, it’s hard for them to succeed, lasses aren’t going to go into a sports bar, lads go where lasses are. That said champs in Washy has succeeded.

They would be far better off turning revolution into a sports bar.
Walked behind Cooper Rose and Chaplins today. Beer garden so far is traffic cones at either end and a guy was pressure cleaning the path. Bit close to the main road for anyone drunk stepping out into the road as buses fly past on way to Park Lane
Sounds utter shit. Town struggles for a decent beer garden.

Their beer garden is a canny size looking at the pictures. Never been in it like.
They've only got roof space haven't they? Not many will fit up there.

Had lights attached from chaplins to the Cooper last time I saw it.

It's not that big. Not sure how it will work either with it being on the roof as people will have to go intothe pub first? Mind it's a sun trap when it's hot.

Most places do tbf. We just don't have an outdoor drinking culture in this country, especially up North. Most pubs are old buildings that were designed to keep the heat in and the punters warm.

Wooden divider thingies there now.

WATTBA
It's shite, but at least they're trying to make a go of it and get things going again. The likes of the Cooper rose will have a lot of old fellas that live by themselves as regulars. It's probably the only chance they get to get out and have a bit crack with people. Hopefully it's only for a month or so.

Has anything been mentioned about the pubs near Victors using that street? Don't think I've ever seen a car drive down there so it seems like an ideal space for outdoor seating.

But you go down London in the summer and everyone is just standing on the pavement drinking, seems a really good atmosphere. Police ignore it. Up here it just doesn’t seem allowed.

Dont know about them using that street, but only Victors has confirmed it’s opening in April. Greens not opening until May and Establishment haven’t said owt on their social media. And with no Revs anymore that only leaves Victors. It is a decent spot that for outdoor drinking as well, remember it being well used on derby days and before gigs at the SoL. Bit of a sun trap on nice days.

IIRC there was the big screen there for the world cup too, so again plenty room. Hopefully Victors are exploring that as they only have about half a dozen tables outside at the minute.

I just yhink it's a culture thing mate. Pubs tend to be smaller down there too. I think we're a little bit more traditional up here and people have always stayed inside. The 'cafe culture' that they have in Europe is becoming more common in London too.
