🤦‍♂️ Shelvey is probably so unmotivated and confused by Bruce's instructions he just ends up putting what seems like 40% effort in.
The way some people go on, managers make absolutely no difference, so why do clubs bother to employ them?

He's a professional footballer. He has experience and he knows the game. Regardless of formation he knows what a midfielders job in a team is. It's not Bruce's fault he can't be arsed.

Managers can make an impact. But they get too much of the credit (Rafa) and too much of the blame (Bruce)

At the end of the day, Bruce or Rafa is not on that pitch. If a player misses a pass or gets a red card... only a tiny amount if blame/credit can be passed on.

If Newcastle has fought hard and lost, you could say maybe the players were good enough but the tactics were off.

Newcastle tonight were lightyears behind a team they are close to in the league. That'd not totally Bruce's faul

Shelvey is the one player benefiting most tbf. It's like the formation is built to get the best out of Jonjo Pirlo.
Putting an immobile shite like him at the base of midfield who can't run or tackle is just playing to his ego to allow him to trot 5 yards back to get the ball off the centre backs then try and play a 60 yard pass to a midget in Ryan Fraser.
Tuchel said before we played Chelsea they'd be looking to pass around the base of Newcastles midfield as they leave one player exposed there. Everybody else has done that as well but Bruce hasn't realised that is happening yet.
Shelvey looks like he's not trying because even at flat out he still looks slow and shit. Bruce loves him though, and Shelvey loves Bruce. IDEMT

Well first of all, I didn't say anything about our team, or Joelinton in relation to it, whatsoever...

Second, you said he 'scored for fun in the Bundesliga' - he didn't, unless he's a boring twat, because he scored 7.

You then said he scored '11 in 2/3 of a season', which counts cup goals, which are irrelevant to the Bundesliga. And as I said, 3 if of those additional 4 goals you're counting were scored in a 7-1 cup win against a lower league team.

And if you're counting the Cup goals, you have to count Cup games and 33 games isn’t 'two-thirds of a season'. 28 games is 2/3 of a season, which is you counting only his league games but including his cup goals.

Wide forward, winger, fair enough. There is a difference, but it's close enough that I'll withdraw that.

So you're 1 from 5 correct.

He would obviously get in our team, but he's shit, and his record ranges from staggeringly average to absolutely shit everywhere he's played
By that metric all of our players are absolutely shit. It’s sad but highlights how far we’ve fallen as a club that joelinton would be our best player by a distance

He really wouldn't. He doesn't look even like a footballer. Sometimes players in top league can't step down. Just because he's in prem now doesn't mean he's up to league one imo

Yeah, maybe i should clarify. He's shit relative to having 40m spent on him, in the expectation of him being able to play in the Premier League, and not look like he's playing in a pro-am kickabout.
