Going for a walk

Just the 4 mile today. Really dawned on me that I’m getting sick of walking local. Can’t wait to get away with the dogs, surprising how much better a walk can be when everything is fresh on the eyes
Beat me I did 3.99 ... Knee been swollen for 3 weeks ... Felt better this morning so went for it..

I go with dog once a week but totally unmotivated for a few reasons
Dog gets one walk a week? If so, poor bugger.
I've walked a lot most of my life. Often with dogs but frequently in human company as well. Not really for exercise, mostly for the pleasure of the walk and the inevitable conversations. i will do nine or 10 walks most weeks. If with the dog then never less than 10 miles and sometimes about 25 or so. Sounds a lot but it really isn't.

I have taken my Beauceron dog, Ragnar twice on the Camino to Santiago de Compostela (750 kms. and 5 weeks or so). We loved it. I have done the Roman Wall several times (East to West). Cold, windy and wet but still a pleasure. I also walked long stretches of the Kennet and Avon Canal too (some nice pubs), and the Entre deux Mer with Ragnar some nice stops for wine and grub.

I am not a striding walker, mor of an ambler. Drives Ragnar crazy.

No I'm not selfish mam walks it other days

Home. What a cracking walk that was and conditions just about perfect albeit a strong wind from various directions. Wheatley Hill to Ryhope (Return). 20.04 mile. Wheatley Hill > Shotton > Haswell > South Hetton > Murton > Seaton > Ryhope. 6hrs 45 mins. 20.22 mins/mile. Elevation gain 1053ft. Enjoyed that. It also takes me to just over 200 miles of outdoor walks so far this year.

I fancy doing this one in the summer

Anyone done the harians wall walk? Looks very doable, 84 miles, perhaps 5/6 days. Watched the Robson Green documentary on it but it was more about Robson Green than the walk.
