Your bat as a kid?

What was yours?

I had a few in the 1980's; only my favourites will be mentioned.

1. The 'lamb' - Murton Juniors general kit bag, Brilliant sweet spot. It was a Gray Nicholls laminated... Scored a few against Ryhope/Eppleton in the 80's.

2. My Gray-Nicholls PowerSpot. Richie Ord (Cantona) had the same bat and score loads with it - mine was dead. Probably speaks about my ability.

3. SS Jumbo - Given to me by Donovan Malcolm our Jamaican Pro in 86. Just brilliant to the sweet spot.

4. Not mine, but my brothers GM Maestro (knicked it occasionally). Wow. Totally consistent.

GM Hero was my first bat
Then a Kookaburra Ice

Then got a Woodworm Hard Drive that I use to this day. Changed the black handle to a bright, luminous pink to match Monty after Cardiff 09

Hoping I'm not the only one whos bats have twice as many cherries on the edges as it has on the face

Gradidge Len Hutton Autograph which had belonged to my uncle - I dont imagine many others will respond with this answer..

Still a good bat even in the 1970s.

Slazenger V100, v500
Grey Nicolls Longbow (carbon) (my only 50 😟)
KPs Woodworm
Slazenger SE
Most recently Kookaburra Ghost

Being a bowler I never bothered with a bat really, but a I bought a Gray Nicholls 4 scoop back in the 1980's. First practice session I had at Silky I managed to hit a ball over the top of the wire fencing and put a bungalow window out. If id tried to place it as such I would've never been able to do so. Had a lovely middle on it - it didn't get that much use mind.

Gray Nicholls way back in the late 60s. Duncan Fearnley then SS Jumbo.

The SS was excellent scored 980 runs in one season with it. Had to replace it because some sod nicked it. Never the same after that.

Crown - as a junior because it was in the club kit bag - really good bat. Disappeared along with all the other gear when the club folded.
Duncan Fearnley 5-star (Viv Richards autograph) - made me bat more like Keith Richards.
Gray Nichols Powerspot - shite. Dead as a doornail.
Gunn and Moore Maestro - Excellent. Had two in succession (second one was one of Gary brown's cast-offs that he'd got from his brother Keith who played for Middlesex).
Slazenger V100 - superb. Light as a feather but a great middle.
Slazenger V500 - shite. More dead than the powerspot. If it got any deader, Monty Python would have written a sketch about it.
Charlie French 2000 - brilliant. First time I used it I realised what I'd been missing out on for all those years.
Charlie French Advance - even better than the 2000.

My first bat as a kid was a sawn down SS Jumbo my dad found in the club kit bag. was just for knocking about when my dad played and was never used in proper cricket.
Then came the Gray Nicholls Dynadrive - lovely middle on it - my best score at Silky U13's was 42*
After that was a SS Turbo Gooch 333 edition - was shite.
Then as i got older I started using my dads Gray Nicholls powerspot - i still have this but i broke it at washington for silky 3rds many moons back.
After that had a GN Longbow - too heavy and middle was pretty shit.

No using a Paul Adred Gold Sovereign - brilliant middle, when i find it!
