Smith and Cullen just served up a brilliant match. Smith won 10-9 with an 11 darter against the throw in the decider after Cullen narrowly missed a 128 to take the match.

Form has been absolutely shot since catching it. Just looking at the stats for the last 64 players; only 11 players average less than 90 in the round (assuming both Chizzy and Wright both maintain their current form). Standard has been so high so far. 2 9 darters and 170 finishes galore too.

Haha. I did it a 66 outshot in a match too.

If my understanding is right, Aspinall will lose 98k on the OOM after this which will see him drop a fair few places as it's a 2 year rolling OOM and he was defending 100k having won it 2yr ago. Will check that

Ratajski must be moving up that pretty quickly as he's another player who is in fine form over the past 18 months or so.

The draw has thrown up some excellent opportunities for the "non top players". £7500 should they win this round and for players like Soutar Vs Meulenkamp that is massive. The two local lads left in will be happy to avoid top 16 players though both tricky games.

Going off current form Clayton v vanDivingBoard seems to be the stand out tie. Good opportunities for the 2 local lads to progress further too.

Cross Vs Wade is a big game for World Cup rankings and well with Cross defending 40k and Wade and Chizzy homing in.
James Wade through, doing what James Wade does.

Some performance by the Pole to knock out the massively in-form Johnny Clayton. Consistent 100+ average and one to be avoided in the quarters.

His inability to count at times is a big worry. The amount of times he wasn't leaving even a big finish kept the pressure off MvG. Last leg being a fine example. 189 with one dart left and he went for the 20s. Think the tournament is wide open if the last 8 can hold their form.
