To me DRS should stop all arguments but it clearly hasn’t. Any umpire in any country is either going to get a decision right or be out by a fraction and technology will support them by ensuring there aren’t any howlers. I can’t understand why you would get upset at Bairstow being given out when he was out (similar to Rohit) You either get good decisions or marginal errors as they are human. The relevance it has with shot selection is they are both decisions and it seems easier the blame the decision making of an umpire because it gives us an excuse rather than accept responsibility for our own failings.whats going on with you like and the umpires?
he was out, clearly. Has no relevance what so ever with our "shot selection"

Fair enough in isolation it was. It’s more the broader picture of some posters making huge issues of decisions at the time that don’t go in our favour and almost not notice the ones that we benefit from.I'm not upset like, Pant was just clearly out, it was a poor decision.
We'd have lost anyway but it was a poor decision, not really controversial thing to say.

I don’t agree that DRS should have overturned the decision as the law stands. However the law shouldn’t have a decent chunk of leg stump on the side of the batsman. Not blaming the on field umpire. But DRS should have overturned his decision. It showed him to be out. It wasn’t clipping the bails, it was hitting flush.
Our batsmen of course have cost us this game but it’s still a moment that has had a big sway as they’d have been in a spot of bother had that been given.
Oh come on. The delivery was close enough to give it out and let the review decide.
But the umpire didn’t do that (for fear of repercussions?) and gave any review advantage to India. Why did the umpires give Kohli and Rohit twice out on umpires call if they fear repercussions? It’s just utter nonsense. Imagine standing 22 yards away the ball is shaping to leg but the batsman is back, how does the umpire judge exactly how far back he is? There’s an element of guesswork and he got it wrong. It was an error he judged it was missing leg stump. I would love to know how many people making these judgements have actually tried umpiring themselves.
There’s a very very good chance it would have changed the result, which is why it’s difficult to take for lots of usYou've gone too far the other way though mate, was a period when you conveniently didnt see any of the controverisl decisions!
I dont think its a stretch to say England haven't had the rub of the green in this series, wouldnt have changed the result mind
Not a lot as far as I can see.Can someone fill me in what I've said today that deserves this?

I think the need to rotate players out of the squad and send them home has hurt us. Buttler going home while being in good form, not being able to keep Moeen despite Bess playing poorly and losing all confidence, etc.Always the sign of a long panicked tour is the selections in the last test
Had that in the ashes with like borthwick playing, Boyd rankin, and sometimes 2 keepers
Kind of happened here
We’ve actually been in 2 decent positions in the last 2 tests despite playing ordinary batting and our selection has cost us
Imagine stone or wood to back up the first 2 sessions
It’s a shame and it’s easy for us to highlight but this often happens on these tours,
Thanks! I know I can be annoying at times but was genuinely confused today. Not sure how he can hate someone that much he’s never met
Is SAFC2012 Indian or someit? he loves them, I can remember how gutted he was when we hammered them 4-1
No worries, don’t really like to see people being baited. I’ll be honest I like and agree with lots of what you post, I don’t think I’m the only one. I think you often come across badly as argumentative or antagonist but often if I read what you’ve posted back later it reads in a different way. Might just be me. I know we take the piss on here about certain things but I think it’s done in jest. Certainly on my part anyway.Always the sign of a long panicked tour is the selections in the last test

In fairness to yourself, I’ve quoted your post but I could have quoted other posters at different points.
We all like our cricket, are passionate about the game (some more so than others!) and appear to know about the game (maybes with the exception of 1 who I have on ignore). Of course opinions are going to differ, but that doesn’t mean it needs to descend into petty squabbling going backwards and forwards.
Just be a shame to drag this board down to the standards of PF that’s all - I’ll keep my mouth closed about it now![]()

Have to agree with you there mateI agree The Rat is as passionate as anyone and knows his stuff. I have a lot of areas of agreement with him and passionate areas of disagreement but when it gets a little bit OTT as it did a bit during the second test there is always enough healthy respect there to move on. The board would be a poorer place without him.
