Would agree, having tried both I would always take the 10 over the Rioja finish.
The 10 Is very solid at the price

For me, the value seems to be in the £30 to £50 price range particularly if you can find something which has genuinely been reduced into this range although I am but a novice in the whisky drinking stakes. Thanks for the recommendation, Talisker 10 is probably my favourite so far but Bunna 12 not far behind. I’ve just ordered the Ledaig 10 on Amazon for £33.25, coming Friday How about something at the cheap end around the £20 price point?
I'm also quite partial to the unpeated Tobermory 12 as well. It's a good value distillery for me.The 10 Is very solid at the price
Tobermory 12 is a fantastic dram IMOI'm also quite partial to the unpeated Tobermory 12 as well. It's a good value distillery for me.
I think Distell do a great job with their 3 distilleries, Bunna, Deanston & Tobermory. Sure they are very good at marketing them but they have the quality products to back it up.Tobermory 12 is a fantastic dram IMO
One of my favourites. I bought a bottle in the Loch Fyne Burns Night promotion.I'm also quite partial to the unpeated Tobermory 12 as well. It's a good value distillery for me.
I might pick up a bottle of that and see what it’s like, I had the 28 year old glen marnoch a few years ago from aldi but I hadn’t really got a taste for whisky then. Hopefully the Lidl Islay is decentthe Lidl Islay is drinkable...at £17.49
Not great but ok bang for buck
I went for the Ledaig 10, looking forward to that turning up tomorrow!Ledaig Rioja Sinclair Series is circa £35 in Amazon

I can’t find the quarter cask for a decent price but the Laphroaig Select is £23 in Morrison’s, that any good?for £10 more than the Lidl Islay you can often pick up Laphraoig QC....a big step up.
Ledaig 10 won’t disappoint
Not from what I've heard, never tried it though. The 10 and the QC are spot on, occasionally have good offers on bothI can’t find the quarter cask for a decent price but the Laphroaig Select is £23 in Morrison’s, that any good?
Avoid the select mate, it’s poor.I can’t find the quarter cask for a decent price but the Laphroaig Select is £23 in Morrison’s, that any good?
At that price point (which is generally available somewhere) it's a reasonable sipper for me.Glenmorangie 10 years Single Malt is £26 in Sainsbury's at the minute - saving of £11 if anyone's interested

Ok I’ll keep an eye out for the quarter cask, 10 or the ardbeg 10no...avoid.
Their 10 can often be had fir £27 from one of the big 4
Amazon worth keeping an eye out for their QC. Often dips below £30
Ok I’ll keep an eye out for the quarter cask, 10 or the ardbeg 10
Is Aberfeldy 12 decent?
Had a bottle of the Aberfeldy given me as a gift a few years ago. It wasn’t unpleasant but I found it a bit nondescript. We each have our own palate though, a lot really like heavily sherried whiskies whereas they are not for me. Just got to find your own palate and have fun doing soOk I’ll keep an eye out for the quarter cask, 10 or the ardbeg 10
