Fair enough, but make sure our pension pots aren't hammered. Also crackdown on those abusing the tax and benefit system's.

That’s definitely on the low side to be starting, I’d say anyone earning over the national average wage would be a fairer place to start.

The 2 million people on minimum wage aren’t on that.

All in this together !! All take same percentage hit. Couod argue the larger earners took a bigger hit
Fine by me but not at that cut off. Probably closer to the 25k I reckon
Why? Why not everyone pays same percentage

19.5k is fuck all, it’s barely above minimum wage. Tax the people earning 60, 70, 80k if you’re going to tax someone
Why should they take the brunt? When they mostly likely been hit harder if they where furloughed ? From 4-5k a month to 1800?

Again why’s that fair ? Fair is everyone surely?

Your thoughts on this?

How should the debt be clawed back? What would you do if you were government to raise the money?

those who received furlough payments should pay more than those that didn’t. Unpopular opinion but the correct one. Why should those teachers, nurses, police, supermarket workers etc cover the cost of all the ‘free’ money that has been fished out
Maybe getting large multi nationals making obscene profits, such as Amazon, to pay their fair share of tax would be a start.

this as well. Absolutely
Convert furlough payments to loans to be repaid over the working life, ala student loans

100% percent this should have been the deal.

People live within their means. It’s not like people earning those figures will have the equivalent in disposable income. They’re already paying 40% on a decent sum of that as well. If you apply it across the board most people won’t notice the difference.

Sorry like but if you’re taking home £4k a month you can chip in a bit more.

Now, in reality very few posters on here will be on those kinds of figures, but since this is the SMB and everyone has a brand new Mercedes, a six-bed in SR6 and kids at private school, I’m sure there’ll be lots of faux outrage.
