Florida

My eldest is nearly nine and it's been just over a year since we were last there.

He says he doesn't think he'll be bothered about meeting the characters anymore, and he's too scared of the bigger rides. By the time we would go the others will be his age.

Not sure when we'll be back. It's somewhere that we are considering moving to, so maybe we just wait for that now (if it happens).

We spent over two weeks just chilling last time. Then two full on park weeks afterwards. In hindsight we did it back to front. 🤪
That would be unbelievable

Aye. The thought of living somewhere with a pool etc sounds good. Depends on whether there are any decent jobs though. Wouldn't fancy being Mickey Mouse or Pluto.

Could be worse, could have been the magic castle.
Can you just move to America or do you need to qualify? Always fancied a place out there when retired and doing 6 months there and 6 months back home.

Days Inn, McCoy Road, that's what

Was still class, mind.

our first trip was a two centre effort, first hotel was the Colony Plaza on Colonial drive and the second hotel was on the west coast “60 minutes from Disney World” , try well over two and a half hours , had two days there then came back to Orlando .

I’d certainly recommend going back as a couple if the kids are too old to come on holiday with you , just for old times sake , it was an eye opener.

My wife is American so I would qualify for a visa that way.

I don't think you could do 6/6. I think they only do 3 months at a time on ESTA.

Just got a quote for October 2022
£7800
3 bed villa for the 4 of us, with pool etc
Toyota rav 4 hire

Has anyone doen something similar?

Is that during the school holidays?
Ah well that makes it easier. I meant 3 there 3 back here but 6 in total each place. Bit of a dream anyway, out of reach for mere mortals like me.

I guess it's probably doable if you go off peak and rent out the villa during peak months! Might pay for itself.

3rd October - 17th so don't think so. We got quoted £8000 in a travel agent for a package holiday but I would prefer the villa

Would you not consider booking everything separate? I’ve never paid more than £1000 a week for a villa, some considerably less, and they’ve always been spot on. Do you want both Disney and universal tickets? Seaworld is worth the money and is considerably cheaper. If you’re willing to do a change on the flights they can bring the price down a fair bit.

The only thing that's set in stone is the dates really

First time went with TUI -2 wks in beach/yaught club.
Next one booked things separately- one week yaught club then second week Porto fino .
Meant you get the fast passes free for both parks and you don’t have to drive everywhere so can have a drink .
If we go again I think it will be a villa so we can treat the in-laws etc.

Villa about £1000-£1500
Flights about £2000
Tickets maybe £3k
Car hire about £500

I haven't checked tickets so that's a tough guess.

Will the agent give you a choice over villa etc?

I think I'll do week at CBR and then week or two in villa next time.

So potentially savings but I'd have to book separate . This is my quote
