TV for Xbox x

Not for me, but a family member is looking for a tv to support his new Xbox x. He’s found one (not my cup of tea but I’m just going with it), but the reviews state it doesn’t support HDR.
Would it be pointless him getting this? The TV in question is 4K.

To get the best out of his new xbox, he wants to look for:

HDMI 2.1
OLED

That leads to....LG.

Problem is he will need to spend 3x his budget (LG OLED55CX or OLED55BX if he wants to go a bit cheaper...still amazing)

If he can stretch do 2x his budget, something like this: 55NANO906NA

If not, then for the 400 mark they are all much of a muchness (rubbish, but cheap)

Cheers for that Sleepy. I do feel he’s going for a cheap and rubbish option and have just about told him that but there you go.

The new xbox looks good on the bairns cheap Polaroid fhd TV so I wouldn't worry to much just yet. To get a tv that ticks all the boxes like HDR 10, 120hz, variable refresh rate and freesync are £1000+ at the minute but will no doubt come down in price as the tech is quite new. For £400 you are looking at a gaming monitor either 4k 60hz or 1440p 120hz, in other words you will have to chose between graphics or smoothness. A £400 TV will still look good but you won't have a choice about 120hz

But if you’re playing on a cheap fhd Polaroid there is zero point in having the neW Xbox. May as well save cash and get an older one.

With the current gen consoles you have to chose between graphics and smoothness anyway as well. Higher frame rates (mostly locked at 60fps but some 120fps, however still some trickery…) or better graphicS but locked to around 30fps!

nah the new xbox is better in everyway.
He will get a new TV eventually he's only 6 😂. It looks good as it is, even better when he gets a new TV

Looks canny for the price! Not sure there are any other splitters around, that one above is probably the 1st!

I have mine in our bedroom where we have a 55" but sit about 6/7 feet away. The bairn has a 28" i think at his desk which i prefer tbh. Wanting to try the keyboard etc he has but cant do that whilst sat on the bed in our room
