Just me, or is there no detail on the meat itself on their website or facebook page.

Like, where it comes from, how its raised, what its fed, welfare etc?
I don't mind paying the high end, but I'd expect to have a bloody good explanation of these things first.

Never asked for a supply audit from any butcher I’ve used before and I’m not going to start asking now.

I think you’ve brought a new meaning to the word pedantic.

Organic is basically the badge that covers this, but if you don't want to pay for that, then the last you can do is tell us about the meat. Otherwise it could be any old shit, imported for anywhere, laced with all kinds of drugs.

Loads of other butchers go to great length to tell you about their meat. That's how they justify the high prices.

Beef and lamb is from their own farm, sure if youd ask theyd tell you the food the animals are fed on and where the pork and chicken come from as they seem pretty open.

Like you say you pay the extra for the knowledge the animals are getting some sort of decent life and youd hope they know that so wouldnt hide it.

Absolutely mate. I did go on the site, but didn't see very much - its unusual for a high end butchers not to shout from the rooftops about the quality of their meat. That's why I asked if I had simply missed it somehow?

The only thing I saw was this line " Aberdeen Angus heifers and Grass Fed Lamb ", which implies the beef is not grass fed, which puts me off immediately.

We just buy from butchers that supply tasty meat and have a good reputation or have been recommended by friends.

Quite happy to pay good money as long as it’s tasty and good quality, I don’t need to know the supply chain details, it’s of no interest to me at all.

If I was that way inclined I’d read the website properly before commenting on the lack of information.

What's your point?
Am I supposed to not ask questions about a local business that is like to support?
I did check the website and Facebook pages first.
And now someone has answered.

I don't see why this is a problem.

There isn’t a problem mate, don’t be so defensive, it just amuses me. Don’t want to have beef with you.

Black pudding soresarge are nice
Beat me to it, amazing they are
Sausages and black pudding last weekend were lovely. Burger was not as good.
Aye I thought the burgers were bog standard, had better out the supermarket
Was later on when I got there, probably go earlier next time. Queue for the bakery side was massive like.

Pies are immense, come in slabs which are huge but fuck, they're pricey. About £3.50 IIRC for a slice of pie. Cakes look class anarl but again, on the pricey side
