I thought it was the other bloke that was the dodgepot !

I see ISG have been appointed contractor along with an Italian architect, pininfarina.

Scheduled to be on site in summer 21 so going some if they don’t have planning yet but presumably a fair bit of work has been done to date.

I know little of the company but it does seem odd that such a start up would ramp up so significantly. You would have thought it was have started up from the production of a new battery that the sector was fighting over but there is nothing in any of the press to suggest that they have an innovative battery patent or that they can produce it considerably cheaper or quicker than others. I know they’ve meant to have signed a deal with Siemens but that looks more to do with production software than anything else - can’t see anything on Siemens website.

I hope (for all in the north east) this isn’t the automative version of the nightingale hospitals.

@Osklen Its more driven my market forces rather than new batteries but technology is improving. Lot of demand by car companies, Jaguar Land Rover the latest example
just as of today wanting fully electric cars

I agree, though if you were Land Rover or other automotive organisation would you not want the security of a company that had produced a battery and which is tried and tested? I can’t see anywhere that they have a prototype battery, this may well be the case, but just strikes me as odd. Must be quite a risk for a car manufacturer to commit to them at this stage, similarly to invest in a £2.6bn venture without any contracts?

Or Siemens semi conductor factory at cobalt

Went past the site last week whilst working near by......lots of activity doing ground works

doing site investigations? They haven’t got planning permission yet?

there Is work on the dock which is over the road from the site and they were constructing the North Sea interconnecter to the site next to the BV proposal.

that’ll be the old power station site, across the road where they are building the deep sea dock. Was in there on Thursday having spent a week in there last year, it’s amazing how much has gone on in a site with nowt on it!
