The vaccine thread

Weatherman says heavy showers are likely later this afternoon... You take your brolly or Gortex Jacket and it stays dry... Happens a lot. Sometimes it's better to say nowt if you can't back it up with hard evidence. Just my opinion.

I'll take likely for now. I know what 'likely' means and the article is decent enough to not give us the false security of implying it's a certainty.

You can guarantee if it said 'unlikely' people would be waving it in the air like a winning raffle ticket.

I could jump the queue as a frontline worker. I'm in Essex but I could get bumped by Herts council but I'm not in a vulnerable group and I work with people under the age of 20 who are not vulnerable from a health perspective so happy to wait and let others gotl ahead of.me

Loads in the press about us moving further up the list. I’d much rather someone who was at more risk in any group went before me

I'd rather you lot and teachers got done next.

That way the kids can be less disrupted and you can get on kettling anti-lockdown protestors with less risk to your own health.

Have them all on standby lists to go in at short notice

I think you can certainly do that with the Police.

However I think they should book all teachers in now for the Feb half term with the second dose booked for the Easter break. That way the kids can go back to school two weeks after they really should.

This has been happening around the country where the vaccination centres have been ringing a local nick if they have any left over at the end of the day, because of the storage limitations it would otherwise go to waste. Apparently this happened in Southend a few days back and their senior management have decided to stick them all on for doing it.

I don’t care about the risks to my own health, nothing will deter me from a good old kettling

Its one of the annoying cultures in this country unfortunately. See it all the time, it doesn’t even have to be a vaccine, it can be anything, no matter how trivial.

The amount of times you here well my neighbour has had it or x has had it so why can’t I, it ridiculous. Just shut the f up and wait your turn it’ll come around.
People forget that it's like the FA Cup....your name comes out when it does.

Has coppering changed much in the last year?

Can't be nice having to get up close to people, not that it ever is I guess?

It has. Day to day crime like shoplifting and robberies were down as people weren’t out and about as much, assaults against unknown victims was down, assaults against known victims was up as were domestics. There was a rise in theft in two strands though, loads of parcels being nicked from doorsteps and fraud has gone up.

In terms of how we deal with it, not that much has changed other than more low kevel stuff is being reported over the phone rather than a copper going out to the victims home, that was being encouraged anyway though pre covid.

Obviously last year had a hell of a lot of peaceful protests to manage as well

I feel for you all.

I know a number of Police and aside from my cousin who seems to have a cushy firearms number these days most others are just fed up with dealing with petulance from people about masks, parties and all that stuff.

settle down man, why always so angry

as it happens my "stupid opinion" may not be so stupid as you think - Patrick Vallance has said they need to review the 12 week strategy on Pfizer after the Israel data.

But he won’t be involved in decision will he, if we are to change course that decision will be taken by JCVI who set the policy in the first place and whist that body comprises many eminent scientist valance is not one of them

2 million jabs In last week

Covid: Nearly 2m UK people got first Covid vaccine in last week
