Bought a new oven, previous 1 had a plug attached, new 1 doesn't even come with a cable. The website I bought it from said it needs hardwiring, can I just add a plug instead? It's a single oven

Ovens often trip the mains. My oven was plugged into to the downstairs circuit and tripped it when I used the grill. It was a faulty grill element that I replaced but I also got a circuit breaker plug. It doesn't trip now.

Needs to go through a fused spur I believe, we replaced our gas oven/ electric grill last year and while there was a regular socket underneath where the old one was plugged in, the installer said I needed a fused spur fitted as per regs.

Had the same problem just before Xmas, you'll need to get a sparky to do it,
it needs it's separate heavier supply, all normal sockets are 13amp, so you'll need bigger

Got mine installed by Fazeys(?) who do everything by the regs, 40amp CB (I think - its a twin oven) seperate isolation, twin and earth and trunking etc

Yeah that's what I'm finding online, it's 2.3kw, should be fine?
Only if it’s a dedicated circuit for the cooker. Is there a hob? Hobs are the high load if it’s elec and you will need a separate 32a supply for that if it is, or a cooker connection unit to do both.
