Vegan Thread

Do other vegans on here take any supplements? I take B12 and Omega 3. Get my bloods tested every few months - all spot on. Iron, diabetes levels, cholesterol, CRP etc.

I take a b12 but no idea if I need to. The only other thing was iodised salt instead of normal salt.
B12 supplement is essential. The only reason meat eaters might not need B12 supplements is because they inject animals with it. In fact 95% of all B12 supplements are given to animals for human benefit. Crazy.

I have, she is dealing with my vegan email first.
Bozo himself is on the craft ale portfolio I put together
Vegan craft ale. Work if the devil.

I was just going to eat dirt like our forefathers

Vegan cheese and vegan bacon is the work of the devil. Vile stuff.

Cheap vegan cheese, IMO.

This though is like crack, it's fantastic. Tyne Chease is canny too.

The one biggest disappointment for me is that I thought I'd lose a little bit of weight - but didn't. Despite that, generally feel better in myself, in a way which is hard to define. More alert.

Overall was surprisingly easy to make the change, and we really enjoy what we eat because it's prompted us to keep making new things all the time, which might connect to the weight thing. Try and stay away from processed vegan food as much as possible, but occasionally give in because why not.

I used to be a big cheese eater, but it turned out to be eggs I miss the most.

A good thread, I hope it’s one of those that’s bumped every week or so with everyone’s recipes and discoveries.

Miso tofu tonight with stir fried greens. Was really nice. Tofu isn’t my favourite but when done right with nice glazing or seasoning it’s good.

The alternatives are getting better, I think. Some of the seitan stuff is really nice.

Had a vegan donner kebab from a place called Donner Summer (great name) at a beer festival in 2019, was one of the best kebabs I’ve ever had - the toppings and sauces certainly helped.

Wife makes a fantastic Mongolian crispy seitan thing.

We went to Donner Summer in Leeds and I almost couldn't move for hours afterwards. Brilliant.
Nothing wrong with everyone eating less meat and going a little more veggie but vegan is a step too far.

I recently saw some "Vegan butter" advertised. Errr.. isn't that just margarine? Besides, if cows produce milk naturally then what's the problem with us making butter and cheese out of it?

Umm...
