PS5 Stock

Any idea when they'll be back in stock?

Canny annoyed as my PS4 stopped working at the end of October, but as we went into lockdown a few days later I couldn't get it fixed until December. Took it to CEX beginning of December, got it back just before Christmas, bought some games for the bairn for Christmas on the assumption it was fixed then it wouldn't power back on again less than a week later.

Took it back and was told it would be fixed again by the beginning of January. Emailed CEX the other day and just got an email back to say it's beyond repair as the CPU is fucked and they'll hold on to it and refund once the stores reopen after lockdown. Great

So now left with a load of unopened games that the bairn has been waiting to play since Christmas morning and CEX have a broken console with them for at least the next 7 weeks. The only game I ever play is Fifa so was reluctant to splash out on a PS5 until they come down in price, but was surprised that new PS4s are £250 and the digital PS5 is £360 (is that right?) Seems a bit of a no brainer.

Other than not being able to use discs is there any advantage to having the £450 version to the digital? I'm hopeless with gaming stuff these days as never really play them but thinking more for the bairn (or at least that's what I'll tell the wife)

Some places will get stock this month.... allegedly.

Wouldn't put money on you getting one that soon though

Easter maybe?

The disc edition has the advantage of being able to play those lovely ps4 discs you have. They're coasters if you buy the digital edition.

Laptops direct had some come in stock yesterday but they were selling them bundled with extra controller and gaming monitor for £900.
Hopefully a sign that some places are starting to get some stock in again.

aye, I toyed with the idea of just buying it and selling the monitor but they’re only worth £180 so I’d be paying about £700 for the console.

if a smaller company can get hold of them then surely the bigger ones will get them soon.

Well you won't be able to play the bairns unopened PS4 games on a digital one.

I guess it’s an overpromise/underdeliver mess, though unsure if the company or Sony are to blame.

Absolute clip nonetheless, but at least gives me something to look forward to in lockdown.

Even still, don’t let people preorder if you’re not absolutely sure you can fulfil orders.

I was hoping to get one this week while I’m off work but no sign yet.

They also have a Telegram group which is shit hot in letting you know when and where stock is available.
yep, got mine using it, telegram came in about amazon.de having stock, clicked on it and had it bought within seconds of the telegram. Its the only way now to get one with the stock so short, you have to be ready to click the link as soon as you get it

Hopefully with this rumoured big shipment I should be able to get one no bother this time.
