What kind of birds do you see in your garden?

Mainly sparrows, robins, blackbirds and pigeons, might see the odd finch now and again. I only recently found out that blackbirds migrate, always thought they were settled in UK all year round.
aye, the blackbirds you see in winter usually aren't the summer regulars, come from northern europe, same as robins. Do think at moment got some summer blackbirds as went in kitchen this morning and mae is on window sill waiting for its brekkie ( same behaviour in summer )

Blackbirds here stay all year round with so much food.
Love suet pellets. The berries have almost disappeared now therefore moving in from the open fields.
Song Thrushes will build nests as early from February with Blackbirds starting in March. Will try and post some pictures as the Mrs is well into her photography.

Top photos mate, made my phone one look crap, lovely colours

She sits in the log store with my shooting camouflaged net :)
Borrowed a decent lens from work.
Will post a few more as plenty of visitors all day. Glad she has found a hobby that she enjoys and feel less guilty when I disappear to footy and fishing :)

Goldfinch and Robin

Our blackbirds are weird, some stay put, some only migrate 20 miles, others migrate over 100 miles. I have 3 regulars in mine, 2 males and a female which I think are the same ones I see in the summer.

Suppose the most unusual is Black Grouse. Get Dippers, Moorhens, Pheasant, Woodcock, Snipe, Short eared, Barn and Tawny owls. Buzzard, a range of falcons, willow warblers, sandpipers , redshank, Heron, Green and spotted woodpecker as well as the common garden birds. Pretty lucky to have a large moorland garden beside a river.

At the moment I get a lot of finches - goldfinch, bullfinch, greenfinch, chaffinch, plus blue tit, coal tit, great tit. Had a strange one turn up last few days but it turns out its a Blackcap.

Lovely birds the Blackcap.
Most migrate but a few stay around. Come Spring we get quite a few around here.
Very shy birds and lucky to get close to them.
