We were about 26 at the time and played for the Sunday team. I remember his daughter, my mate had a bairn with her.

Not so much that but for some of these much vaunted kids it’s a chance to measure themselves against a lesser team. If they don’t stand out against Oldham the coach is hardly likely to play them against top opposition, like..... Lincoln.
