Lee Johnson deal officially done

The only way people on here would have been happy is if we had appointed a “name”. There’s still an arrogance with many supporters as to what we should have rather than what we need. I have no idea if Johnson will be what we need but at least the club are making strides to change how we approach things on the field rather than what has happened over the last two seasons which has meant we have literally stagnated. Of the “names” mentioned only Poyet and Pearson seemed to be met with nods of approval but are these fellas really what is needed to get things going and get out this god damn league? Personally I think not. Change of structure, personnel and approach is what we needed and that is what we are seeing. No guarantees in football but I have a little more hope than I did this time last week.

We never learn.

We could have appointed the best up and coming manager in the country and we appoint a plodder with a worse win record than the fella we have just sacked.

You couldnt make it up.

I hope Im wrong but the club is dying on its feet.
Maybe, just maybe, Cowley turned us down.

Honestly, what is the fu-king point any more?

As if he will be afforded the time needed.

We need a manager, with a vision, to be in charge for 2 or 3 seasons. We must break the cycle of sacking managers every year.

Would be happier if we stuck with Parkinson.
Parkinson had a fair crack, sticking with him guaranteed mediocrity. I’m not terribly impressed by Johnson but there’s little doubt he developed players at Bristol, their sales evidence that. Provided he’s sensible in transitioning our system he could be good, won’t take much to improve our forward play/ line.

He's got to be better than Parkinson, doesn't he?
Good luck to the lad and everything crossed. Maybe the Clough prophecy will one day come true.

i hate this “better than Parkinson” tbh not many could be worse! But is better enough? I think Ross was better than Parkinson but was that enough? If we set our standards to “better than Parkinson “ that the bar is very low.

Cheers mate. It's not an inspiring read but I'm eternally optimistic.

Breaking the cycle of hiring shit managers would help with that.

And who exactly is the best up and coming mannager in the country?

Bloke is only 39yo. He has a lot to learn still but also has good experience. Give him a chance got to look to youth in all areas. Remember he's a coach. We will have an academy manager, head of recruitment etc around him. It's no longer a 1 man band. Not my first choice, but I will be behind him 100%
