Lee Johnson

Not looking for bites but as league one football club in what is known in football circles as poisonous job Why are we so against Lee Johnson?

Because he has a far worse record than Parkinson in this league. He's also been managing 7 years and finished 8th once. The rest of the time he's been worse than that

If that's right it would be disastrous for us where teams sit in against us at home and away.
The bottom line is that in 7 or 8 seasons as a manager he has never got a team about 8th. We can clearly see that this league is the easiest it has been since we have been down here and probably easier than next year will be. All we want is top 2 and Johnson's record has been pretty poor for whatever reason. Of all the manager's linked (except Campbell) he's the only one who can't point to a previous promotion - most of them have had multiple promotions. If he is appointed no amount of spin from the feckless Methven and Summerbee on here can blind the fans to the fact that he would be a terrible appointment and the most likely to fail. We would accept 10 defenders and 1 attacker if it meant promotion. We simply have to get out of this division and Johnson's track record would strongly suggest he doesn't have the capabilities to deliver that - even if he's seen as a 'modern coach'.

If we’re looking for a coach he’s one of a very limited number in the listed runners and riders.

Far more likely than the Cowleys if that’s the way we’re going

If the Cowley's don't come I'd rather look even further down the league's than go for f***ing Johnson because he's a 'coach'

Apparently he had to move house because fans found out where he lived in Bristol. We can all imagine the likes of Summerbee trying to spin this utter mediocrity. Wouldn't be nice to have an appointment that needed no spin.
He had to move house after we signed Bristol Rovers legend Matty Taylor. Bitter gash fans.

Put a team managed by Johnson against a team managed by the Cowleys. You get the sense that Johnson’s team would play some nice stuff along the way but that the Cowleys would take the points.
This happened last season and Johnson took the points.

Only the first time. The Terriers won the return. Granted you won 5-2 as opposed to Huddersfield's 2-1 but the bothers had only been at Huddersfield a few weeks before the hammering at Ashton Gate occurred.

I thought Johnson was gone by then, must be my poor memory.

Then, once he'd had more than a few weeks at Huddersfield, Cowley beat him 2-1.

And perhaps more pertinent is the defeat at Huddersfield was the third match in what would turn into a nine match winless run, with just two points gained. It is the streakiness of Johnson's results throughout his six years in management that stands out alongside his failure to actually achieve anything.
