It doesn’t matter how many players at that level were signed from Championship clubs, I’m talking about Birmingham specifically.

Butland, Gray, Adams, Bellingham etc, imagine he did that here? We’d either have some good young players on our hands, or we’ll have made money on them.
b not the man.
You’re of course entitled to your opinion, but I don’t get the negativity just because he’s coming from Birmingham.
Middlesbrorugh likely have had more at higher clubs. You want wone of their backroom staff? Just admit youknow nothing about him but are defendin the club not this fella.

He's not going to be SpD. He's TD, with a SpD coming in as well. He's been doing near enough a TD role at Brum for the last year or so.

That James Hunter tweet suggests otherwise like. He may be wrong but he referred to him coming in “as Technical director/sporting director”

Most of the Boro graduates that have been a roaring success are about the same age as me (mid 30s), so no I don’t want any of their current back room staff because they haven’t brought through a top player in 15 years.

Edit - actually according to Transfermarkt they have a handful of players around 23 or younger in or around the first team. If we were poaching someone from them I probably would be ok with it depending who and what role.

If they’d do a better job than anyone we’ve had in recent years, yes.

Just admit you’re being negative because he’s coming from Birmingham.
Becasue its Birmingham, the length of time he's been there, the fact we should be aiming as high as possible. We were led to believe we were in for a huge amount of positive change. Is this what good looks like?

Agree, should be poaching staff from Barcelona or Bayern. Small time yet again.

I Hooe I'm wrong buy this doesn't look good. 14 years at Birmingham! Hugely underwhelmed. Hope he proves me wrong if appointed

Other than Bellingham who else I'd on this convorbelt of talent that's come out of Birmingham over the last decade?

Redmond, damari gray, butland.

He was liked by the owners and there was rumours he was picking the side last year instead of the manager 😂

Hard to judge his time here because we have been broke / under financial restraints for years now.

having thought about it I’m furious with the level we’ve targeted. We should be going for Michael Zorc, Lars Ricken and Hans Flick. Anything less is a disgrace and should not be tolerated.

Completely agree, evaporated all hope I had in any positive changes by the new ownership. Who gives a piffle if he has a proven track record of producing top talent through the academy and is well qualified? It's BIRMINGHAM CITY for crying out loud!! 😫

Probably not but as I've said on another thread there may be very few opportunities to be a "manager" at a club of any reasonable size now. Ipswich Town, surely his most likely destination if we don't get him, have a DoF and a General Manager of Football Operations. I'd like the Cowleys to have full control as Manager and Assistant Manager as would they. Unfortunately that option won't be available here now but nor will it many other places.

He's needs to get used to it, otherwise he'll be managing in the small-time his whole life. This is football now.
