Just like with Parkinson, people are going to have unrealistic expectations when it comes to our next manager. Who can we actually attract? No investment in the squad in 18 months, seemingly unable to spend in January and then the potential of being hit with the salary cap next summer. Takeover or not, we're not particularly attractive to young managers atm.

It's either take a risk on someone completely unproven or bring in another manager from League 1.
Not when a Takeover is due to happen, you would definitely expect something better in the pipeline than Michael Appleton.

Poyet and Phillips would both take it if there's new ownership with a vision they can get on board with and money to spend. Can't say for sure they'd be a success but they'd certainly inspire more hope among the supporters than Parky or some other league one duffer.

Poyet gets a lot of love on here now, and to be fair I like him, but he had a large portion of the fanbase on his back throughout his time here the first time. I'm not sure it would be any different this time. Phillips would be a backwards appointment. I wouldn't mind taking a punt on someone, but it has to be a manager with better credentials than Phillips. Other than "giving the whole place a lift", I'm not sure what he brings to the table.

Maybe it'll happen, but the takeover doesn't really make us more attractive as a club if we're limited by salary caps.

I see he's being bigged up for appointment over there by someone who normally does that sort of thing over here. Hasn't quite called him a cult hero, but you get the general idea.

FFS is that Summerbee you’re referring to.🙇🏾‍♂️. I couldn’t think who it was.
Ive replied very politely when if I’d clocked it was him I’d have been very impolite. 🤬

I certainly think it does if the new people have a long term plan.
Is he TD?
Not 100% sure.

we can spend in january!!!! Sick of people saying this. Loads of ways to get arounf the cap, if we're ambitious enough.
