Durham Membership 2021

Hope everyone is well. Looking for a bit of advice. Me and Mrs Cumberland pressed the the Durham Defender button on the internet a few week ago. Nothing happened, whirling away, no acknowledgement - feel I’m a bit in limbo.

Hope everyone is well. Looking for a bit of advice. Me and Mrs Cumberland pressed the the Durham Defender button on the internet a few week ago. Nothing happened, whirling away, no acknowledgement - feel I’m a bit in limbo.

I had a query on my membership so rang the box office. Got the recorded message about closure due to covid but hung on after message then got ringing tone and then call answered. Renewed membership under Durham Defender initiative during that call.

Thanks for the reply Parkside. Tried the phone but as you say kept getting the recorded message. Will try the phone again - does seem odd that it’s me that’s trying desperately to hand over £300 to the club for Cricket I have never seen and still can’t get a response. Thanks again for replying, much appreciated, will try again.

thans, i'll probably do that. i signed up for the gold membership and have just assumed it'll transfer automatically to defender status rather than a refund but probably best ot check

I'm sure on another thread @GordonMuchallNo1Fan said that you get an extra year added.

We asked for an extra year and got it without any issues.

Which reminds me, I need to sort out a junior membership for the nephew

The club are now advertising 2021 membership giving the box office number so presumably it's now live.

Confirmation received today from DCCC that they will be claiming my Durham Defender Membership payment on Dec 4 which at least confirms they received my application.

No further info enclosed as to how the scheme will work ie named 2 guests but hopefully will receive this in due course.

Fingers crossed for April then.

They do a Concession Membership for people living over 50 mile away which is £145 for the 2021 season.

I was a founder member. Costly but pleasant , comfortable and friendly. Membership was predominately elderly naturally - to warrant the expense you need to be able to attend regularly.

Do they still do the membership for people living outside the region? I won’t get to go to the Riverside, but want to support the club.

Last year they did a Gold Membership, five years for the price of four, including the 'Country Membership' discount! Comes in handy for Southern away days as you get into their members club which usually has real ale on. Susssex is a fine example!

£875 is decent value to be fair.
I'll stick with gold membership for now though which itself is excellent value
