Episode 7 of the Double Reel Film Podcast is out now, featuring Borat 2, Casino, Dillinger, Hitchcock's unrealised Kaleidoscope project and a rant about the 2001 remake of Planet of the Apes

Terminator Dark Fate. Just a rehash with wimmin really. Storyline was pretty wank and plot holes galore. Always will be with time travel mind. But - a good action movie and one you can watch with one eye when doing something else. 7/10.

The Godfather
Still a 9.5/10

Echo Boomers
True story about a group of younguns who go robbing houses. Was alright. 6.5/10

Patriot Games
Not seen it for years. Harrison Ford pisses off Sean Bean by killing his borther in a failed terrorist attack. Enjoyed it. 8/10

The Boxer
Very good. Daniel Day-Lewis plays a boxer who returns to Belfast after being locked up. 8/10

In The Name of The Father
About the Guildford pub bombings and the group trying to prove they were coerced into confessing. Very good. 8.5/10

Gotti
The 1996 one, not the shite John Travolta one. Was decent with a few of the Sopranos cast in. 7/10

Fantasy Island (2020). Another attempt of a reboot of a much loved childhood TV show. 2/10

The Lake House (2006) Fairly decent time travel film with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. Similar premise to Somewhere In Time but not as good, but still canny film to watch. 7/10

Calm with Horses.
Irish film for film 4 on Netflix. Gritty drama. Very good.

Mangrove.
first Steve McQueen film for bbc mini series. True story of police brutality and corruption in 70’s Britain. Again very good.

Bone Tomahawk, slow burn brutal western with some good actors.

Jojo Rabbit - Brilliant. Funny, touching, some hilarious scenes. The little fat kids was awesome. Loved all the popular songs in German in the background. 9/10
Dark Encounter
- Not bad for a movie I've never heard of. Was on Amazon Prime. Alien encounter movie with a twist that doesn't make a great deal of sense. The alien is really good, mind. The beginning was reminiscent of some of the more solid alien films of yore. 6/10
Brothers' Nest
- A diamond in the rough. Some real laugh out loud moments but, by God, it doesn't get much darker than this when it's at its darkest. 8/10
Just watched JoJo as it came on Sky. Was nuts but excellent. Taika Waititi was excellent in it, so was the kid with the glasses,.special mention for Sam Rockwell. Think he's a very underrated actor, he's been excellent in every film I've seen him in.

Robin Hood (2018)

Oh my god.... why did I stick it out to the end?!?

Edit: watching Predator, some good old 1980s camp acting should even things out a bit

The Gentlemen. Formula Guy Ritchie Cockney Gangster film. Happy to watch on a Saturday night with a few drinks in me. Colin Farrell playing himself whilst Hugh Grant as an east end sleazebag?! 7/10.
