I decided to run home from school on Monday, 10k and surprised my self with a sub 45 minute run, average pace 4:29 per kilometer with my last kilometer at 4:10 pace.

Yesterday did an 8k yesterday as a recovery run, but ended up pushing myself for the last 2k and did it in 36:06 average pace 4:28, not my fastest time ever, but I'm starting to feel age dragging me back and slowing me down.

I have to keep reminding myself I am 53, so my times are not that bad.

Nice one WillD, but enough of that continental units sh1te, minutes per mile please!

Yet we have the 5k park runs and the Sunderland and Gateshead 10ks

England should have decimalised completely. Stones, Pounds, Inches, Yards, Miles, Feet and Ounces should have all been phased out along with the old monitary system.

I'm now used to being
87.5 Kilos in weight
180 cms in height
and my house is 10k away from my school

You definitely don't have to pay. Might depend on what time you go tho and if a group have booked a session on it? I used to go about 16:30 during the week and there'd be a few like-minded runners there and the odd training session going on. No bother getting round tho.
I'm gonna have a dodge down this week now. Might be decent way to gauge where I'm at.
Went down after work tonight. Probs about 10 other people dotted about. Knocked out a 21:09. Decent progress.

Nike have a 30% sale on today. I've just got some Terra Kiger trail shoes usually £114 for £44 as they were reduced before the 30%

(You save the £4.50 delivery if you sign up as a member which is free & takes a few mins)

Shows as 52.48 for me

Did a half in 01:41:39 this morning which is a PB . I wasn’t flat out so looking ahead to sub 01:40’s next year hopefully.

I’ve done 3 ultra marathons (50k, 57k, 50k) and got a sub 01:45 half marathon, need to find a sub 20 5k to complete the objectives of page 1.

Best I’ve done so far is 20:50 so not so confident on that, but think I can get close.

Good weekend running everyone!

Before you start your 5k do a 1k warm up with a sprint for the last. 200 meters. Start at a jog and gradually increase your cadence and pace.

Then keep stretching and after about 5 minutes go for it.

20:58 at the track today. First sub 21 in a long time. Seeing massive improvements with the regular running but sub 20 feels like an impossible dream.
I have got quite good at getting through runs mentally, but the track...even for a 5k...it just does my head in how boring it is. I'm going to do some intervals there in next weeks , but when I give my 5k PB a go it'll be a route

It's mind numbing like.

Reckoned it would be too muddy/slippy elsewhere atm and everywhere I normally run seems busy despite lockdown.
I'm trying to check my 1k splits so the track is an easier way to do it narl.
Let's see if you can still do it at 53.

Well done son.
Cheers fatha. I use you as my inspiration. ;)
