Grumps, you spend a lot of time simplifying and clarifying matters that some of us on here would otherwise not comprehend.
Thanks for continuing to do so.

Cheers for the updates on here and over the road mate. Much appreciated.

Agreed!! Wish he was my teacher at school I might have amounted to something😂

I've long wondered whether Sartori always planned to get more involved but was quiet because he knew Donald and Methven were going to fuck it up and, when he made his move, he didn't want to be damned by association.

Aye me too mate but then it makes you think if that’s the case why he’d want them here in any capacity. Surely he wouldn’t want a pair of failed chancers riding off the back of any future success they can bring.

Donald gambled promotion on signing a player that was better than Maja when Maja would probably have stayed until the end of the season. He cashed in on Maja and signed Grigg in a last minute desperation signing that has fucked us over for the last two seasons.
Maja was never going to stay. How do you know he 'probably have stayed until the end of the season' ? If he had stayed and had a poor second half of the season, as players often do when they've secured a big contract, it would have been 'We should have sold him and got Grigg instead'. I also remember the delight when we signed Grigg, the general consensus being that we'd got a proven goalscorer albeit we'd paid too much. Oh for a crystal ball.

sure Juan has said to his mates, look boys.... if you'd witnessed the trafalgar square the day and night before a lower league checkatrade trophy final. IMAGINE what my people will be like if we actually deliver a modicum. of success ! 😎
pop open the champagne guys, our time might just be about a comin 🤞👍

lord knows, we've waited long enough !!!!!!!

Nailed itin one there, mind i dont think we have much wiggle room in jan window.People suggesting we pay players off to allow new signings wont work.As the payoffs still count towards the cap.So ya right the grigg signing is knacking us

There are apparently clauses in the sale agreement to that effect.
I could see how this would take some time to agree.......as who would want to buy a club ,invest loads into it and see a couple of chancres like don and charlie reap the benefit .Does anybody think they will really keep quiet .........Lets hope santi puts his hand in his pocket as well!

Spot on marra!

I actually think people get a bit too hung up on the wealth side of things. I'm happy with it just being sartori and the new lad because, on their own, they must have approaching £3bn. At that point we don't really need loads of other billionaires with a share, all with their own ideas of how it should be run and all with different approaches. Let's say between the two of them they're happy to invest, for arguments sake, £150m. That should be more than enough to get us into the PL where clubs can start to turn a profit. The main thing we need is for football people to run the club day to day. It's the bit Short always fucked up. Get that right, good people with a large budget to spend sensibly, and we'll be on our way.

Agreed but getting it right at all the levels : CEO, Coaching , DoF , first team squad, U21s, academy , lasses , matchday experience is still difficult. The arrival of fresh cash is like blood in the water for the football industry sharks !

Am I the only one who wouldn’t feel very comfortable with a 22 year old mammy and daddy’s boy being in charge of our club?

Money without brains doesn’t work, we had that with Short and it almost cost us the entire club.
We don’t know that he’s a mammys boy and we don’t know he doesn’t have brains, but you crack on mate. He could well be a disaster but Given his family I m not certain that will be the case. What I do know for sure and certain is our current owners are presiding over the bleakest period in the clubs history, and the chance of them being taken out of the picture is worth the risk.

Is it still just the one piece in The Guardian? No other reports?

Curious to hear Barnesy this afternoon ...

At the minute i'm trying to not get too carried away. There have been plenty of takeovers that seem at face value to be good but have been disastrous. Once they are in, we have heard their plans, seen their early decisions in terms of job roles, organisation and structure and seen them invest in the areas they are able to I will start to get excited at that stage.

In the long run , the signings off the pitch are far more important than those on it .
