Takeover News/Rumours

Wasn’t putting people down, I was just amazed at the amount of posters who were underwhelmed at the possibility of this lad and Juan getting together to try and make something of our club using their not unsubstantial wealth.

I didn’t sign up here looking for an argument, although having lurked for years I knew it was possible I just didn’t expect one so quickly.

just out of interest, what are your thoughts on today’s news? Underwhelmed or optimistic?

No idea tbh. Satori has been awol during his whole stint here and I don't know anything about this other lad.

I'd put football intelligence way ahead of personal wealth when it comes to the perfect owner so it's hard to make any sort of assessment on it until I know more.

If Satori/Donald/Methven weren't still involved in any way I would imagine more people would be feel more confident about it.

Not sure if it has already been mentioned, but could it be that his mam will be the actual owner (as she's meant to be the one with the money) but as she still holds some shares in Marseille and can't legally own two clubs that its just her sons name on the paperwork. So his in name for legal/technical reasons, but really a family investment?
Not a problem in different leagues, the family who own Udinese and Watford, City Group own Man City, Melbourne City, New York City etc, Redbull own Salzburg and Leipzig......

Those Marseille fans are very rude and sexist. They'll find us much nicer and not at all mental.

Fortunately our spirits and expectations are quite low. Throw a few scraps out way and that'll keep us happy for a few years.

Really, with a little bit of expenditure and decent management it would be difficult not make a success of Sunderland.

Looks like the Louis Dreyfusses are successful at everything they do. I think we might be okay.
Nicely and politely put, not a swear word in sight

You can't own two clubs in the same country - there's no prohibition on owning more than one club across border. See Red Bull and Man City.
