Golf 2020

aye it’s a fantastic place mate been 3 times only played the course on the hotel once mind as I went in the summer and it was ridiculously hot

was meant to go last year but we cancelled as it was getting refurbed and a few of the amenities and restaurants were shut the bait options are tremendous even the buffet is top class

Martin O’Neil took the lads there when he was manager too
Thanks, does look great like and thought price was reasonable.

‘Kin hell

he should walk it on paper

but green jackets ain’t won on paper
Back 9 par 3s he will have wedges into

7 and 11 he will have a huge advantage

he’s taking the bunkers out of play wouldn’t surprise me if April comes that 9 will have trees all the way down his fairway on that hole is huge something like 700 yards

Saying in the media today Augusta is the only course where they haven't allowed the greens to be examined for the green books. Dechambeau was last in strokes gained putting last year. Will be epic to see him take it apart. Would love to see his line on 13.

Advice please SMB golfists, a mate took the game up this year. What would be the 'easiest' course to break 100 for him? I haven't played many courses around here, Sharpley, GW, Wearside, Ramside, South Moor and once round Seaham, Boldon and Whitburn. He got 108 at Sharpley and 107 at South Moor so he's very pretty decent for playing 6 months I think. Mount Oswald is gone otherwise would have taken him there.

If you go here The R&A - CHC-Lookup you can look at the course rating of any course, lower numbers are supposed to be easier courses.

Throsten down at Hartlepool is wide open and gettable

Still to play knotty hill. Throston im slowly seeing how its simple if you avoid daft scores on first 7 holes.

Reet whos up for a midweek rtg friendly first week after lockdown?

Most of the opinion suggests that lockdown will carry on after 2nd December, but a sweetener might be the relaxing of golf, they won’t be massive demand in winter.
I can easily handle the bar being closed.

Sharply is a short course, rough is playable mostly. I’m a member there and felt more comfortable playing there than Whitburn for example.
An SMB knock should 100% be organised after lockdown. I could have a word with those up sharply, they love a visitor and could get on as a ‘society’

If it’s just about the score , take him to Cocken Lodge .
It’s a good facility there and a good little course and bound to break the ton around it .
