Takeover News/Rumours

Improved accessibility infrastructure was talked about during the failed FPP takeover i.e. new footbridge over the Wear linking the stadium with the City centre. The new Foootbridge from the Vaux development is going to Government today for Waterway approval before final planning permission is granted by the council, all due to be constructed and installed by 2023. Is it possible that new (in waiting) owners are looking at this closely and waiting for the outcome of the Governments decision? You never know...

😂

Will it be approved today or just submitted? Out of interest

I get it mate. I’d be cynical too.

I think we can all agree that we’d like this all sorted sooner rather than later though. So fingers crossed ey
Yeah mate I’m ok with the way things are going
just a few loose ends to tie up
it not be long I hope
The bit about connecting the sol to the city has been on the news

thanks mate. I’m not lying and neither is he. They’re emails from one of the sellers and whilst I know there is a distinct lack of trust in the current owners and they’ve lied to us all before, this would be an increasingly elaborate and pointless one to lie about. For that reason I’m hopeful. Which is why I’m posting on here to pass on a little hope.

I’m not lying mate. But I completely understand your cynicism. I’d probably be the same, we’ve had nothing good happen for 5+ years, it’s knocked all the positivity out of me. Let’s just all hope we get some good news soon for once
I honestly can’t see how they could keep this so tightly under wraps whilst emailing random fans about it. If anything is actually happening they’ve managed to stop a shred of info getting out. That doesn’t tally with sending updates to supporters.

I think your mate is either winding you up with fake emails or he’s being had.

I totally understand the cynicism. But I’ve seen the emails and it’s one of two things.

1. an increasingly convoluted and elaborate lie involving not just that person, but also including the CEO openly lying on podcasts, Donald deliberately lying to Barnes etc, just to wind up Sunderland fans for no plausible reason. Or

2. There’s a new major shareholder(s) replacing Stewart Donald very soon.

either way we’re about to find out

It doesn’t have to involve the club, ceo or Donald if the emails were fabricated though does it? Anyone could quite easily knock up a fake email chain.

Indeed. Take it all with a pinch of salt, nowt wrong with being hopeful but it's easy to sell people on things when they're desparate.
It's obvious that a few people are getting similar information, that's not in question.

What's also obvious though is that of those people one or two choose to embellish it to appear better than the others with made up stories such as deadlines like today or the local press having the info but being told not to report it. It's utter nonsense like that which gets people's backs up.

For what possible reason though?

Because the owner, at the time, had just been ritually humiliated in a RAWA meeting and subsequent media interview that exposed why his position was untenable.

If he had said 'we're trying to sell the club' and had no interest, how would that look for the club's valuation right now? Also, it could prompt a previously interested party to come back, or get more interest from a new bidder.

So there are potential reasons to do this if you're inside the club. Hopefully it's not the case and there is a legitimate new owner around the corner, but let's not pretend there's absolutely no reason to make this up.

How will nothing change this season? A takeover could revitalise the club.

I agree though that I dont think a takeover is anywhere near
Hope so, but am very sceptical that anyone buying us in our current state are here for anything other than a quick buck
