Searching for a positive. With Power and Dobson as a two, Parky believes we can play both Maguire and Gooch further forward - or in other words, we dont have three defensive midfielders on the pitch.

Absolutely appalling team. Parky has lost the plot entirely tbh. Wyke again. f***ing minging. Dobson and power were always going to be in at the first opportunity, also a joke of a decision. Gooch sets up 2 in 2 games from wingback so let’s move him into central midfield or up front where he cannot play. Centre half at wingback. Wingback at centre half. Amazing this guy still has a job tbh
He'll be in a job as long as Donald is in charge, he has neither the money or ambition to sack him.

Given the conditions, injuries etc I don't think I have too much gripe with the first 11.

However the bench choices are very dull and if we go behind or the match is tight there is no point of difference.

The point of difference would be Wyke, Graham and Grigg all on the pitch together, miss out midfield and hoooooof!

I’m really at a loss what the fuck Parkinson is thinking here. He is an unimaginative, terrible manager who is looking to pinch the game 1.0.

No flair, no desire to be free scoring, just turgid.

We will win tonight and Parkinson will think he’s been vindicated. In reality it will paper over the cracks and we will come unstuck when we meet a half decent team as we did with Portsmouth on Saturday.

Totally agree with that - playing 3 defensive midfielders is unforgivable. The positivity is reduced when you realise that both Power and Dobson are poor passers of the ball. Despite his mistake on Saturday Leadbitter will be a miss.

I get people not liking Parkinson, but some of the comments in here are just daft.

You can disagree with decisions and still be impartial, but some people are just going out of their way to criticise.

Aye it’s a fair point. If it’s a return to 343 with maguire and gooch in their proper positions then that can only be a good thing.

Tin hat on but Power and Dobson aren’t as bad as being made out and there’s nowt between them and scowen. They’re nowt special at all, just regular one paced, league one level ball winners but if there’s just two of them in the side then the onus isn’t on them to create. The issue recently has been playing 3 defensive midfielders at once.
