Nonsense. As a person who does remodeling, I suggest that anyone with paper on the wall remove it completely. Painting over it is complete failure. It might survive a year, but will eventually peel. It always peels.

This vid method first.Ah, shit mate, nightmare.
I watched this vid on youtube, and followed what he done to strip it. Worked a treat....top layer came off easily enough, though seemed to come off better working from the ceiling downwards. Second layer, the backing paper, i sprayed a whole wall, went back to the beginning and everyone came off as a whole sheet. Some, i was only needing to peel for a couple of feet, then gravity took over and it rolled to the floor.
1. Done.This vid method first.
Steam remover if needed second.
Sugar soap third.
Toupret fourth.
Stardrops cleaning solution.
thank me later.
would clean shit off a barn door in one wipe.
Surprising people still use wallpaper tbh

The good news is that you can test the theory yourself. Waste all the time you want. Were just anonymous smurfs on a message board.Nonsense.
You lucky bastard.1. Done.

He gets hung drawn and quartered at the end.Aye, having a few cans now, watching Braveheart, and thinking about painting a sodding bedroom tomorrow.
Just soapy water? Sugar soap?
Bit late with the spoiler mate, it finished 15 hours ago.He gets hung drawn and quartered at the end.
And despite what the film says they did not win their freedom.
Standing joke in my mams house . Same blown vinyl for at least 35 years maybe 40 .Funny, my father-in-law is a time-served painter and decorator with his own business and well over 50 years at the game.
He put blown vinyl up in ours years ago, and all we have to do is re-emulsion when the need arises - no peeled off paper to be seen so far.
Nowt wrong with it.Standing joke in my mams house . Same blown vinyl for at least 35 years maybe 40 .
This . Stripped my walls in my new home last year intending to paint . Had bloody distemper on ( threads on here somewhere ) . Put good thick lining paper up 2 emulsions , job doneSeal it with Zinsser Gardz.
Repaper with 1700 lining paper.
Emulsion x 2 coats.
Will look fantastic...
She doesn't change much she's 93Nowt wrong with it.
Just change the colour scheme when required.
Its an old bungalow, but who we bought it off had the whole lot replastered. Its the only room they had put paper up in, so has come off champion....i didn't even have to use a scraper. The paper was canny as well, thats why we've left 5 years. Done all the other rooms twice in that time. You lucky bastard.
5th consecutive room In the last 18 months I’ve had to do all four. I’m done for the day now.
Good luck to her.She doesn't change much she's 93
Remains to be seen she's just got locked down in York again and she's a sociable little buggerGood luck to her.
As long as she's happy.
I've probably painted over wallpaper the best part of a hundred times and can honestly say I've never experienced this peeling phenomena. The good news is that you can test the theory yourself. Waste all the time you want. Were just anonymous smurfs on a message board.
I've make a good living over tearing off peeled, painted over wallpaper. Most wallpaper is shit to begin with, typically put on by people who don't know what they are doing.I've probably painted over wallpaper the best part of a hundred times and can honestly say I've never experienced this peeling phenomena.
I think you and Dan are on crossed wires. Blown vinyl is completely different to vinyl paper. One you can paint over, the other dont even f***ing bother.I've make a good living over tearing off peeled, painted over wallpaper. But, YMMV. Cheers, and good luck!
