Golf 2020

Why do you want to leave sharpley? I’m actually looking at playing there Friday due to my course being soaking{George washy}
It’s a visitors course, opinion of members come second and money first. Staff second to none but the amount of visitors coming through who tear the course to bits ruins it for me. When lockdown was lifted they didn’t even make sure people had the correct gear, lads playing in sliders and using range balls. Not repairing pitch marks, divots all over the greens.

when I say correct gear, I’m not someone whose a stickler for the old ways but if you’re coming in sliders, or work gear and using range balls you’re not exactly bothered about the course.

I couldn't give a fuck if someone is wearing a hoodie, a vest, a pair of jeans or a tutu.

I'm more bothered than they repair pitch marks, keep up with the pace of play, let players through when there's an opportunity.
All of which a lot of members at my club are guilty of.
any recommendations for golf courses within an hours drive of Sunderland, me and my mate looking for some new courses to play over the winter. Played most courses around Sunderland within a 30 minute drive.

South Shields
Hartlepool
Seaton Carew
Cleveland
Newbiggin

All decent for a knock in winter and within an hour's drive

Although kids should be encouraged to take up golf, I'm not sure allowing them to wear hoodies is really going to attract that many more. I mean all that is asked of them is to wear a polo shirt and some trousers, which are getting more and more casual all the time. It's not as though you have to play in a 3 piece suit with shirt and tie.

I know it's the consensus that they they should be allowed to wear what they want, but is it unreasonable to ask for a basic level of smartness? A load of kids playing golf in their tracksuits is going to feel like playing with a load of little charvas.

I suspect I'm going to be placed in the dinosaur category, just my own opinion.

6 of us use a golf course midweek for snooker and have to fully comply with full dresscode even though theres only us n the barmaid in. Mental.

reckon the comp tomorrow will be off so I end the season on 10.6 from 14.5 ... not sure what I'll be on 2nd November mind

canny golfing year broke 80 off the yellas and then done it off the whites when comps were back...hole in one too... Finished the year struggling more like off 15 again then 11

this game is infuriating like

already counting down for the clocks to go forward and the fuckers haven't even gone back yet, conditions are rank already sick of mud on balls

That’s some going that, closest I came to break 80 was an 84 but that’s an exception. Normally play around 88-91 strokes a round.

Nice one, I'd expect you will be lower than that again.

Played down south last week and couldnt remember the last time id had to play in strong winds.
Was awful teeing off first with gales coming at you.
Determined to persevere through winter like!

makes you a better player i reckon... no getting away with slightly fat shots in the winter

Pal of mine has built a barn with an indoor simulator - its the dogs bollocks. Bar, Corner sofa etc Unfortunately it can record everything when you play.

I played there this week and I have only just realised I have the worst swing ever (never had a lesson), but somehow manage to get back to the ball. I have a fitting for new clubs booked for tonight and I'm already embarrassed/anxious about what they will recommend - f***ing darts probably

Would love one me

Not sure what tracker he has (its not gcquad) but he has also set up a camera to record swing from behind. As well as the normal stats, the software from projector captures video of the clubhead hitting the ball so you can see the strike as well as all the data.

Ive asked him if I can move in

Genuinely think that’s one of the first things I’d get sorted after winning the lottery 😂🤣
