They'd make an absolute killing here. I dont understand it.

Plus anyone wanting to invest in a football club has pretty much the most valuable man n football out of work looking for a project. It beggars belief.
I’m not sure. There must be a reason why no one with any sense will come near us and our owners have either been people with a sentimental attachment, idiots, chancers looking to loot the clubs coffers

with a West stand extansion when upper tier is completed on South and East stands...appretiate fantasy at moment but Im sure a few better people than me have said its doabble.

Adding the north stand added 7,000 to the previous 42,000. The north stand extension included one corner as an extension too. If the same is done to the south stand then that should be at least another 7,000 (the back of the north stand was restricted due to the proximity of the pool behind it) taking us to 56,000. That would leave the longer east stand and two corners so adding that would add more than 7,000. I would estimate it would add 11,000 to 12,000 so if the upper bowl was completed we could end up with 67,000 to 68,000 seats. I’m not an architect btw - just did some calculations years ago

I completely understand why 99% would not touch it. The championship is stupid money and investment is far more likely to translate into ongoing heavy losses.

RedBull however already have the players available to them to be able to loan them to us at no extra cost to themselves. That should be enough to see us return to the premiership, so a 150m rise in club value alone (also massive income generation), as well as their loan players increasing in value due to exposure of English game.

If that isn't enough, they have an existing global player & staff knowledge to invest with as certain as you can be in football to see a profitable return.

It's simply using resources they have already acquired and using an existing template.

Seems a no brainer to me so I'm sure I'm missing lots of the pieces.

I’d imagine us leaving the EU and the probability of new work permit rules making it virtually impossible to sign promising talent from abroad puts a huge dent in their typical business plan

Another tier on the west stand? I’ve nivver ever heard that mentioned ever and I’m not talking about crowd size wise I’m on about engineeringwise. It was nivver mentioned when ground was mooted etc. The whole place was designed for quick one summer and a bit turnarounds that’d eventually get a second tier on the three sides that didn’t have em originally.
Early 60s was I’m sure the max because the mags cant extend theres and Murray wanted them to know we could outgun them if necessary. It one brief point that seemed a possibility.....then he blew it.
Been mentioned several times on here so it must be true! :-) Anything is possible its just how much money you can spend. Important thing is we have the land and the stadium is designed to extend. We can thank Sir Bob for his forsight. We just need to get things right on the pitch to justify extension but for all those who say we would never fill it we have never fulfilled our true potential for nigh on 80 years it would be nice to find out.

The one thing that is not possible is the mags extending the Hotch Potch. Listed buildings behind the stand alongside the pitch and the metro station makes the gallowgate end very difficult to build on.

Imagine if we are taken over and one of the first decision's they make is to submit a planning application to extend the ground to 75k

Yea, lots of moving parts but if anything will be immune from strict restrictions it will be football I'm sure.

It'll be absolutely packed when we're fighing for the PL title marra. There'll be lads scaling the walls just to to get the opportunity to have a glance of the modern day 'team of all talents'.

This thread is a psychologists dream - starts with a little glimmer of hope and expectation, before descending into farce, anger and recriminations... leading into the inevitable delusional fancy as reality finally dawns.

Shall we do this every year? ;)

Yes it would, unless the players are full internationals. It's why the Man City owners keep aquiring other clubs, so they own the player for long enough (at another City Group club) for them to get the requisite caps to make them eligible for a UK work permit.

I’ve gone back 10 pages of ramblings. would one of you be kind enough to summarise the latest for me please. Thanks.
