Inzaghi

Really good striker in his day.
not outstanding player but quite clearly had something extraordinary about him to score goals.
don’t estimate how hard it is to become a professional footballer at any level. But then to make a career out of the game is another level.
to then Go on and be successful at a top league for a sustained period means you are a good footballer.
to be at the top European and international wise must mean you’ve got something that most haven’t.
Everyone’s entitled to opinions but there’s no doubt about his record at the top level.

I used to think Zlatan was shite until he went to Man U and now I wish I'd seen more of him. Ego the size of a planet but by fuck he had something to feel big about. Love the big mad bugger!

I think there's a fair few people who wrote him off because Barca sacked him off but he still had a decent record there.

Had a few mates who took till he was at PSG before they changed their minds on him so he's always been one that sticks out in memory.

Sorry mate but if you ever thought Zlatan was shite it's because you were making a judgement without watching him play much.

He wasn’t a comfortable footballer to watch, however he was a very good goalscorer and rightly represented his country! You don’t play for Juve or Milan if you’re shite!

So on MOTD there, Ancelotti just said when he manged Inzaghi he scored 300 goals, 210 of which were with one touch. An incredible stat, but not one that appears to be borne out by the facts? Wiki says Inzaghi scored only 197 goals? But Ancelotti doesnt strike me as a Walter Mitty type.

Remember reading an article about him in FourFourTwo years ago and his teammates were saying that he had an awful touch (probably why he used to shoot first time) and couldn’t pass etc... but he just had unbelievable positional sense and was a fantastic finisher. He’d get himself into a position where when he received a pass he’d only need to slot the ball past the keeper. Job done.

"Simply put he crapped. Crapped a hell of a lot. That isn't a bad thing in itself, but the fact that he'd do it at the ground, in our dressing room, just before the game got on our nerves somewhat . Especially if the dressing room was small - a stink like that in such a confined space can get a little overpowering. Often he'd go three or four times in the space of 10 minutes."
