I wanted him gone before he started, but after Saturday

I find the 'hate' for PP embarrassing. Its not based on anything more than pre conceived opinions of him. I couldn't give a fuck if he has a dour persona. Give the guy a f***ing chance.
I don't 'hate' him but I don't think the negativity towards him is solely based on pre conceived opinions, although granted this does play a part. There is also the fact that his points return is shit, the team selections and tactics are too negative, we are 1 dimensional and therefore easy to play against. We are playing the same players that we did last year as he has failed to add any pace or guile over the summer and because he's reluctant to try anything new or play anyone else, especially young players. It remains horrible as a spectacle.

He really is just bringing the same thing week after week and hoping that it gets better. I personally want to see him show some courage and try a diferent direction, because this one is tried and tested and it doesn't work.

how many more games are you willing to suffer with this idiot in charge?
I won’t be suffering, I simply won’t be giving them any money for streams. All my pre-season optimism was sunk with that team selection on Saturday. I was willing to give him another go but he just proved he’s an idiot

Never wanted him, was disgusted when he was given the job. It’s death by a thousand cuts with this bloke in charge. Every time I think about him being Sunderland manager I vomit in my mouth a little bit.

We’ve played one game this year, the season ended early due to an illness and the EFL and it’s collection of garden shed clubs made a grossly unfair decision then another which tbh is about evening things up and limiting the likes of us through rules not matches. So there are reasons for the failure and difficulties. Last season and reasons recruitment became difficult this year. I do feel more hopeful with even less quality in the squad than I did under Ross. That said I do have some nagging doubts about us being just organised and functional and one dimensional. I’ll judge this when we’ve played sufficient numbers of games to do so. The people who threw their toys out on his appointment like the OP and many other supposed fans are gasping for us to lose so they can make hateful ‘ I was right’ threads.

I said give him 8 league games before the season started and going to stick with that though I was disappointed he didn't start with Big Arbie and Scowen instead of Flanagan and Dobson last weekend it could be a long hard 7 games coming up

I fear that our transition from "struggling big club in wrong league" to "everyday League 1 trundlers" is complete. The only thing remaining about us that isn't League 1 through and through is our ability to fill stadia and under Covid we don't even have that.

OK perhaps not entirely his fault but he still needs to have a new plan imo. I think giving him more games just to be fair is pointless if he's just going to send them out doing the same things. We might pick up points along the way, but over the course of a season it's not going to be enough.

I fully expect him to keep doing

We’ll see

Don't think it matters one jot who the manager is as long as Donald is still in charge. Fractured club at the minute and far too much negativity (rightly so; his doing) around the place. The manager the vast majority of fans did not want, is on an 18 month contract. He ain't going anywhere whilst the owner is here. Welcome to Sunderland. This is what good looks like.

Exactly this.
He may as well have several more games, and see what he gets out of them. Whoever else came in would still be a ‘cheapest, easiest option’. If we think Parkinson was uninspiring, just imagine what Donald and co will come up with next?!

By then Bob we’ll be playing major catch-up with the top 6. I’d sack him now, put super Kev in charge and give everyone a lift!

Too late on that one. The time to appointment Phillips was instead of Parkinson. When we still had a crowd that would’ve gave the place a much needed lift.
