Local lockdown

🤔 I'm just hoping the national tax payers budget won't be paying billions to technology companies, totally independent of course, to get it's head around some sort of 'Covid pass' or such like.
Not a penny unless they are owned by a Tory MP’s partner, preferably based in a Tax haven to really maximise the financial gain.

If and when the inevitable happens, the school run on Friday morning and afternoon will be an interesting litmus test as to whether many intend to adhere to it (or in fact can actually adhere to it with work commitments) looking at how many of the grandparents are dropping off and picking up!

Care to explain what you mean by that?

Or are you using your morally superior intellect to infer something based on the fact I dared to question you?

You've stated explicitly that you have no intention of being compliant. Therefore you will be a cause of the extension of any measures. Isn't that hard to grasp.
Deluded if you think this will end in 2-3 weeks. It’s likely to be proven ineffective by then a proper lock down will follow. Look at those welsh counties as an example. People aren’t even allowed to leave their county. People are being imprisoned in front of our eyes and people are defending it.

Like I said, all of the available evidence at present gives the local lockdown average period at 23 days. So not sure on what basis you are suggesting that it would definitely be lasting longer? Granted, there's limited evidence, but there's even less that it'll drag on forever.

Being "imprisoned" - what a joke you are, honestly.

That bit is a massive problem tbh. The country has a massive reliance on grandparents as intermediary carers and full time attendance at work is not possible for many without it.

in boils my piss that the government still haven’t got an effective alternative to a local lockdown in place.

For example?
How so ? He didn't say he would be a reckless idiot ? Test, test, test, case, case, case, it's that simple.

He stated multiple times that he will not comply with the restrictions. Restrictions put in place by people who have more information and data than us for a reason. Restrictions we are told are necessary to prevent the viral spread.

Its still actually going for the majority of Manchester. They’ve taken some parts out of it and upgraded Bolton but the rules are still in place for the majority. No one takes any notice mind

Considering I work in Manchester, that part is complete bullshit mind. Most of the places are out of lockdown now, only Salford and a few other areas around the outskirts and south that are within it. And there is generally a high level of compliance.
 I give up.

Good. You need to go to bed. You make no sense

An effective test and trace system that they’ve been promising for months would be a start.

Right but from where we are this week, you cannot develop that overnight, so it isn't an option today. You can add it to the Governments failings list on the other thread and we'll agree its a joke, but doesn't help with the latest crisis.

Beeb reckon's that Hancock will make an anouncement this morning; putting restrictions on pub opening hours all across the North East

The North East has seen a resurgence of coronavirus in recent weeks and four boroughs were last week placed on the government's watchlist for areas needing "enhanced support".
On Monday, councils in seven areas - Newcastle, Northumberland, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Gateshead, County Durham and Sunderland - called for new restrictions.
BBC analysis of the government's figures shows that as of Wednesday, Bolton had the highest rate in England at 204.1 per 100,000 people in the week to 13 September.
Sunderland's rate was 82.1 per 100,000 people, South Tyneside was 93.4, Gateshead was 81.7, Newcastle was 64.1, North Tyneside was 46.7, with County Durham at 37.4 and Northumberland at 25.7.

Should be easy enough to track down all the idiots on social media who have been ignoring social distancing (and posters om here) then name, shame and send them to prison.

The last option is a little harsh but you get banned for wishing harm on this place.
