Local lockdown

he would love it, gowned up and downtown on tap.

Unfortunately he's out grafting all hours whilst she's along at home, all lonely n that.... :(
Ooooffffff:lol:

You are existing to work for 2-3 weeks. Stop being a f***ing drama queen
Deluded if you think this will end in 2-3 weeks. It’s likely to be proven ineffective by then a proper lock down will follow. Look at those welsh counties as an example. People aren’t even allowed to leave their county. People are being imprisoned in front of our eyes and people are defending it.

BMJ study where they examine the increased risk in comparison with normal mortality rates :

Doesn't back up your claim of a one in two million risk going forward. In fact the article actually states that it can't be and shouldn't be used for forward projections.

People will just ignore it apparently so don't worry about it.
FaceTime will be punishable by death.

Id agree with that tbf.

Eat out to help out
No bars being policed
Get yourself to Benidorm for two weeks
lack of testing

Anyone see a couple of reasons why positive tests are up?

🤔 I'm just hoping the national tax payers budget won't be paying billions to technology companies, totally independent of course, to get it's head around some sort of 'Covid pass' or such like.

Because we have more information now. In March, they were hyping this virus up as the new black death, the deaths were ramping up in places like Italy and the whole situation was looking like getting very serious and out of control. Based on that I backed a lockdown at the time.

However, it's been obvious for some time now that this virus is nowhere near as bad as initially feared (if you're under the age of 80 and don't have any serious underlying conditions then you're basically at "struck by lightening" kind of odds of becoming seriously ill with this). Any attempts at lockdown, restrictions, mask-wearing etc should therefore be opposed - the whole thing is a sham at this point.

It's this sort of nonsensical rambling that is dangerous.

Bizarrely I got hammered on another thread for saying this but I’ll be even blunter this time

You know fuck all. Your interpretation and understanding of the basic maths behind mortality is shockingly flawed and the conclusions you reach are just biased extensions of your own, attention seeking anti-establishment thinking.

To outright think you know better than experts who have been doing this since before you were born, is nothing but contemptible arrogance.

To advise people to oppose public health measures to prevent transmitting a genuinely deadly virus is outright negligent of your civil duty.

Agree 100%. It’s a convenient Whitehall solution to cover up the complete lack of a functioning test and trace system.

It’s no coincidence that these local lockdowns are largely happening in Northern, impoverished communities with low wage employment and overcrowded housing.

And people here are defending it, astonishing.

This could be in place till Spring if we want to think about worse case scenario.

I can't see the I rate dropping below current levels as temperatures drop

Sigh. Read the current edition of Private Eye, page 8. I don’t know how to hoy it up here. Other sources will also be available, I really can’t be arsed.
