Holding the public to account?

Rather than point the finger at that eejit Boris for this ongoing mess do you feel at any point we need to hold the people responsible who are continuing to catch & spread this in their thousands?

Now we can all kid ourselves that people can unwittingly catch this in Supermakets etc but it’s glaringly obvious that the vast majority of infections are as a result of people failing to social distance (I feel genuine pity for the people who DO Catch this unwittingly btw).

It seems beyond belief that 6 month after having social distancing and hand washing rammed down our throat 4,000 a day are testing positive (PHE estimate it could be well over double that but due to them being asymptomatic and a lack of testing we dont know).

Until we get a vaccine the longer people keep spreading this shit the longer we have to carry on with masks, restrictions on movement, social distancing, the more businesses are screwed, the travel industry is screwed, The more local lockdowns we have, school closures, job losses, the more fucked the economy gets — It’s that simple.

I know people suffering hardship as a result of some dickhead coming back from Zante infecting people, I know families suffering hardship and misery because of THAT event at Burnside Club. At what point do we hold the great British Public responsible?

On a separate thread you implied that everybody who caught it has done something wrong and seemed to imply that they deserved it through their stupidity and unwillingness to follow guidelines.

As such, the people you have highlighted here should've been more careful presumably?

I didnt say EVERYONE who caught it did something wrong did I? But carry on ignoring the elephant in the room by all
means.

and the second bit, people who have had to take unpaid leave to look after kids as a result of nursery closures, people whose businsess have closed on the backdrop of cases from this incident, people whose kids have developed symptoms because their nursery worker attended and tested positive.

Perhaps we cannot legislate away the disease.
The public have had six months of restrictions. The vast majority are not at risk.
We have a ridiculous situation where young people without symptoms are clamouring for a test when in reality even if they have the virus they are not at risk.
The virus will eventually burn out. It has not turned out to be the deadly epidemic the experts predicted.
My question would be ... at what point do the great British public realise they are not at risk and that the futile attempts to control the virus are causing more harm than the virus itself.

It’s not just the public who are ignoring the rules that are too blame either. It’s the other idiots giving out advice that is wrong or just spouting off without realising the effect it has on other posters.
For example the lad who had a test thinking that shortness of breath was a symptom (which I did too). So I said to our lass about his situation, she said it’s not a symptom so I looked on the nhs website and it’s not!!

No one of importance is gonna wake up tommorow and go “ah, you know what? We don’t need a vaccine, Lets just get every walk of life back to normal immediately because a few loons on the internet are making refferences to Bill Gates or pointing out that iTs TiMe To GeT oN wItH iT cOz ItS OnLy A fLu & nO 1 iS gEtTiNg iLl AnYmOrE”

You do know that?

So without the lockdown how many would have to die before you think it would have burnt out?

Someone was too close then removed his mask when speaking to me today, despite me answering his question "I haven't seen you around for months!" with "I've been shielding as I'm vulnerable" 🤦‍♀️
Liked but don’t like if you know what I mean

My mate called out a place where we go about the relaxed attitude toward masks even though it says ‘no mask no entry’ on the door. When the manager walked away the lads who work there said that they all agreed with with my mate and were glad he confronted him.

Where are these places? I keep hearing of people being challenged down the country and in Liverpool but theres not a bit of it going on up in the NE.

If the charvas dont want to wear a mask in. Shops or on packed buses they dont wear a mask and no one bats and eyelid it’s that simple.

The fact is, you can only keep people locked up for so long. People eventually become fed up & try to get back to normal as possible.

The most vocal on this topic are only concerned about reducing the risk to zero to alleviate their fears. The rest of 'British public' are not really a concern.
