Still no goals in the side, no pace and no creativity.

We are no better than last year

If Wright is fit all season and this lad can do on the left had side what Willis does ob the right (instead of Flanagan, who isn't up to it) we have definitely improved the balance and ability of the defence while giving us more impetus going forward.

Grigg looks sharper, O'Brien is an added option with some quality.

Work to be done but we seem better from where I am looking.

Only weakness I can see is the Keeper situation.

But the government have already said that anyone from Europe working in the U.K. come January 1st will be eligible to stay. If we extend his contract we shouldn’t have any problems surely?

It's not clear how fixed term contracts fit into that. To be certain, he'd need to apply for settled status.

So, theoretically, in two years his contract is up: his Swiss nationality won't make him eligible due to Brexit and he probably won't have played enough games for Kosovo.

Are we literally resigned to losing him for nowt in two years no matter how good he is?

I'd imagine under the new rules/points system he'll be fine as he's a highly skilled professional with a job offer and a high salary.

If he's even half decent he'll get caps for Kosovo surely? Plus with him already being here he'd have a right to stay? Or a meringue?
He does actually have some decent competition - the first choice centre backs for Kosovo play for Napoli and Herenveen. The other CB in the current squad plays for a fairly mediocre Swedish team so if he does well here he’ll possibly dislodge him.

If he can get apply for and get settled status by the end of the year, he'd be allowed to stay indefinitely.

Looks like I was misunderstanding the Brexit terms. I hadn't realized people already settled could stay indefinitely.

Is that true for UK nationals in other EU countries also?

Free transfer, got height, left footed, young. Not the worst signing in the world. Tbh I don’t think Parky has done too bad on a shoestring this summer. Now we just need McGeady and Grigg to go to free up some more funds.

No obvious from the guidelines, which refer to RFQ3 or equivalent formal qualifications for most, and a PhD for talented academics. It's hard to see where footballers fit into this.

Skilled workers
The points-based system will include a route for skilled workers who have a job offer from an approved employer sponsor.

From January 2021, the job you’re offered will need to be at a required skill level of (equivalent to A level). You’ll also need to be able to speak English and be paid the relevant salary threshold by your sponsor. This will either be the general salary threshold of £25,600 or the going rate for your job, whichever is higher.

If you earn less than this - but no less than £20,480 - you may still be able to apply by ‘trading’ points on specific characteristics against your salary. For example, if you have a job offer in a or have a PhD relevant to the job.

Details of how the points system will work are in the .

There will not be a general route for employers to recruit at or near the minimum wage.

If you’re not already a licensed sponsor and you think you’ll want to sponsor migrants through the skilled worker route from January 2021, you should .

Global talent scheme
The will be opened up to EU, EEA and Swiss citizens. It will allow highly-skilled scientists and researchers to come to the UK without a job offer.

He might need to do some night classes for his A Levels! 😂
