Well how can they say if definitely something is going to happen mate? No one can ever say that until it actually happens. Plus, why does it even matter? I'm just grateful people are passing on info, if nothing comes of it, we're in the same position as we are now, accept it and move on.

Agree mate, it's very frustrating as we appear to be in the same position as we were at the end of Short's tenure, we have an owner that's gone AWOL and Rodwell will be dealing with things as best he can.

The lack of ambition is difficult to take.

Probably worse than the end of Short's tenure in that financially we're goosed, with very little expected revenue and no saleable assets.

I still feel optimistic something is going on though.

Is this the *something is happening * from prior to the Americans appearance (FPP) or is this a new *something is happening *?

The water is being muddied claim and counter claim in addition to puppets like storey are being used almost as disinformation... whatever happening and why it is happening is beyond me, as you expect in normal negotiations things are being hived off, but storey abd to some extents using barnes .. the deals is being played out in part via willing actors.
Mick g consortia has gone very quite so o do wonder why ?

The William Storey thing is straight out of a Hollywood movie. I just don't get it at all, Sunderland holds no relevance to him, he has come from nowhere and all of a sudden the City and the Football Club deserves better. It would appear clearly scripted but I wouldn't know why
Mickey Gray is another baffling one. If he wasn't involved in some sort of way, he would be shouting from the roof tops. He is either involved currently or waiting for some other offer to fall through and then he will step up to the plate, hence maybe an NDA

If its a bluff is a weak one .. micky gray has been shouting the odds then schtum... so that again its weird. I've heard that possibly donald moved the goalposts on price but thats probs bollocks. Then the NDA, funny how the old itk network are aware of some of the players in the NDA, again that tends to imply some games on the side

just sounds like a potential buyer saying all the right things to get fans on side. We’ve heard similar before...

It’s certainly odd but surely he must have genuine bid in? If not, Donald should be ready to answer serious questions. He won’t like. He’s a spineless twat

It's pretty easy to have an educated guess about who might or might not be under an NDA, particularly in an individual isn't usually shy about saying something.

My view is that Storey is being used as a stalking horse in the takeover negotiations.

Just jumping in but any decent journalist/reporter would have a second source to verify what he is going to report. It would seem that Barnes needs to come clean and say who informed him/gave him this information about the details as he reported on the BBC Total Sport program. Anything less leaves him with egg all over his face and his credibility in tatters as a reputable reporter on Sunderland AFC.

This was surely quite a major and shocking revelation and should have been explored and was surely worthy of being a major news item on local and possibly national news bulletins?
Sorry, but this sums up an absolute lack of journalistic professionalism.
He may have been told something about the current talks (which ARE happening but not finalised) but again after the FPP last minute breakdown last year nothing should have been said by anyone that a possible takeover/investment was happening.
Most supporters simply want to hear some really positive news about our currently ailing football club once it’s all signed off.
