It’s not rocket science when you can play armchair chairman, spend other people’s money, and make all the right decisions in your own head. It seems to be a little more difficult when it comes to the crunch under several owners/ CEOs, DoFs etc.
Clearly the answer for the next owner is to get someone in from a factory or call center to run the show because there are clearly several outstanding candidates on this message board alone.
How f***ing arrogant are you...
Most people aren't qualified or have the skillset required to run a football club that fact has been underlined by methven and donald who have achieved little and have alienated soo many

Barnes is just a jobbing journo in a rapidly changing world.

When he started out, people bought and read the newspapers, and to a reasonable extent believed a fair bit of what was in them.

Certainly a story like this would have been believed, and it is unlikely that back then he would have written it without some solid secondary proof. He could have more easily afforded caution back then as his, and other's jobs were stable and secure in a thriving business.

But times have changed, as they do. He has been told something, almost certainly by Donald and it's rush to publish. Clicks and followers, and hints and suggestions are the go to tools of their trade now. Not his fault, the Nationals are just the same, often lazily picking up stories from an excitable ether.

He'll certainly have been told what he says he was told. But I doubt he will know more than that. And if it came from Donald, then it is close to worthless anyway. It's just as likely that others are hearing as much.

This was the original tweet:

“I understand Sunderland AFC owner Stewart Donald has entered a period of exclusivity with a prospective buyer - I believe it's not Mark Campbell or William Storey- with a view to selling before the season starts. Sale could be much sooner“

That indicates that whoever was Barnes’ informant believed the sale would go through fairly swiftly. The final “sale could be much sooner” suggests to me it involves someone with a foot already in the door.

Who knows what has happened between 25/07/20 and now .... We’ve apparently been almost at the dot the i’s and cross the t’s before when suddenly the terms have been changed

I'm guessing Friday will come and go and someone will crop up telling us that a decision has been delayed til the following week for an elaborate reason, but not to worry, everyone pushing in the right direction.

The date will be pushed back several times before we receive confirmation that the deal is off, if it was ever on.

My prediction is still on the cards.
