Why the personal abuse? He’s tried his luck and has failed with his objectives but at the end of the day, he stood up and had a go at his own expense/ risk and has said he’ll walk away if a new buyer can be found. Why is he a ‘shit house’ exactly?

Why do fans feel the need to lay the boot into our owners/ people who try to do a job for us.

Perhaps he has invested his own money, I really don't know, but given we had £30 plus million in parachute money and sold several players such as Borini, Kone, Djiloboji, Khazri and Maja, we still failed to win promotion. Now he seems to be holding out for £40-£50m if reports are to be believed, despite accepting a loan from FPP and promising to pay back circa £20m in parachute payments. The whole situation just seems bizarre, whilst I can understand that Donald will want to leave with something to show from the amount of time he's invested in the club, he'd be thought of more fondly if he finds an ambitious, capable buyer and doesn't prolong negotiations past the transfer window thus denting our hopes of promotion this season.

Donald might not be the problem, it could be the buyers that are slowing the process, it's a big decision and the salary cap could have implications on the deal. We also still don't know when fans are due back in the ground, so there's no guaranteed cash flow apart from season ticket sales to date and a reliance on fans buying ifollow passes, which from the sounds of it, any money made will be split amongst the league anyhow.

I just hope Donald is invested in the sale and is doing all he possibly can to make it happen, providing of course the people he's dealing with are worthy replacements as custodians of our wonderful club.

Pretty much this. He is only here because he saw an opportunity to trouser the parachute payments. His strategy was only ever aimed towards achieving that aim and his current 37 million asking price will be carefully calculated to ensure he walks away with a significant chunk of the parachute payment in his back pocket.

He has run this football club into the ground, stripped away anything of any value and left us at out lowest ebb. He will still be here at the end of the season.
The problems at this club predate Stewart Donald’s time here - he picked up the reality of a a bloated premier league club with massive overheads operating with little (sustainable) income in the third tier of English football. We were at our lowest ebb when he arrived. He banked on getting promoted at first attempt, the fact that we didn’t has meant we’ve had to take our medicine for years of mismanagement.
Would love to hear what the arm chair experts would have done. I’m not expecting anything grounded in reality mind.

The deals off and Ashley is still your owner.
How pathetic, this is a new account due to my old email address being inactive of which I have messaged admin who have not replied about my previous account. I’ve supported the lads for 40 years. Grow up!!

Donald won't make a profit, if he pays back the rest of the money he owes

It’s gonna take a team of scientists and a decent wedge of money, to remove your tongue from his arsehole when he does leave.

I’m actually surprised your porn history leaking online was what it was. In theory and based on your postings on here, I can’t see how it wasn’t searches for Stewart Donald naked.

You’re talking about years of mismanagement but then ignoring Donald’s mismanagement?

He failed not once, but twice, to put us in a position to get out of this league. You can’t gamble on getting promoted without having the know how.

I haven’t given him much stick in his time here, but you’re talking absolute shite. No offence.

I’m not ignoring his failings, the failings are crystal clear - I’m pointing out the obvious that there was more wrong at the club than at any point in our history. Calling him a ‘shit head’ isn’t needed, justified or helpful.

1. Not dicked about with Maja and offered him a deal at the start of the season instead of waiting, thinking we had an upper hand;
2. If even then a deal could not be struck, accept we were going to lose money on him and keep him until the end of the season instead of panick buying a replacement and ending up in a position whereby we overpaid out of pure desperation.

That alone would have given us a better chance of promotion. In fact, I'm confident we would have gone up, probably automatically.

The same thing is happening to Neil now btw. We'll end up losing him for nothing if they don't tie him down now.

Oh I agree, I don’t think personal abuse is necessary, but the bloke hasn’t helped himself in the slightest and probably would’ve been cut more slack if he’d come out and said ‘look, I tried but I fucked it’ instead of going on like a bairn.

You really are a moron.

He didn’t try to do a job for us. He tried to do a job for him. That’s why he did severe damage to the long term health of the club in the hope of a short term boost - and associated sale price.

To be fair there’s every chance Maja would have downed tools, that was the culture of our squad when they wanted out. With regards to new contract though, absolutely.

Don’t sell all the kids. Don’t fill the squad with journeyman shite. Don’t prioritise previous promotions over actual ability, don’t ignore analytics, don’t hire all your useless mates, don’t sign Will Grigg. Don’t play billy big bollocks with Josh Maja. Don’t spend two years trying to hawk the club to anyone who’s passing. Don’t say that the club doesn’t need a DoF or chief exec as you feel you can do it. Don’t take the parachute money and promise you’ll pay it back. Don’t say that you want to run the club ‘like an old school club’.

Think that’ll do for starters, like. He has done everything wrong on the football side without exception. And now we’re marooned as he thinks he deserves a profit. Fuck him. He’s a moron.

Because he’s lied about things the fans have said / done.

He’s a shit house chancer, a fraud, a charlatan. And a liar

We were at our lowest ebb when he arrived, since he arrived we’ve finished in our lowest ever position. Twice

Firstly I wouldn’t have bought the club if I couldn’t afford it. If I needed to use the clubs biggest source of income as a negotiating tool to complete the sale I’d recognise I’d be harming the club and walk away.

Secondly I’d have recognised that I don’t know the first thing about running a football club so I’d try and find someone who did to either be part of the consortium or appoint a ceo and director of football with some experience. I certainly wouldn’t appoint people who work for my business like fox which is in a completely unrelated Industry

Thirdly I’d have sat down with all of the youth players at the club and worked out who we can tie down to longer contracts. Ensure they know they’ll get first team football across the year. It was imperative we invest in the players we produced. It’s free players to add to the squad. Maja should have had a contract offer on day one. The likes of greenwood should have as well albeit I accept we may have lost some of them anyway.

Fourthly I’d have appointed a recruitment team with a track record of finding players in league one and two or below and implement a strategy of finding players under 25. If we have to spend money now then so be it, young players are an investment who we can make money on to sustain ourselves going forward. Luckily with the parachute payments actually coming into the club we can afford to spend a little. The aim of buying players with “league one experience” just cements is at this level. Players who’ve spent their entire career at this level or being left out in the level above will get us nowhere.

Fifth I’d have hired an academy director with experience at academy level not someone from the non league level. One of the best academies in England being run by someone from whitehawk was a disgrace.
