what im getting at mate is there has been nothing on this thread that has resulted in anything changing since the thread started, people seem to be convinced something is happening without any proof or genuine info that anything is happening - hopefully im proved wrong and the rich Americans buy us but there is zero evidence on this whole thread of that happening

I don't really know what genuine proof you'd expect tbh. A few people have heard there's talks going on, but it seems there's an NDA in place and nothing is officially being leaked. I mean, Barnes seems to have been given info, likely from Donald, that things are ongoing, he then had a podcast a few days ago where he didn't seem to suggest anything had changed. We've got a bloke who apparently has a bid in chatting away on social media about it and mentioning others who wouldn't be a clean sweep the club needs etc. That's about all we can really expect until something definitive happens. Until then it's likely to be speculation from people who have sources at the club who won't want to be named or quoted. You can either take them for what they are and follow the thread, or be convinced they're full of shit and assume nowt is happening until such time as there's an announcement if one ever comes. I wouldn't expect much else in terms of official comment or newspaper stories about it tbh.

People have totally unrealistic expectations as to how business sales are conducted, the processes involved, and, most importantly, the length of time they take. Eight weeks from approach to completion would normally be considered to be extremely fast. At least three months would be more typical. Also, while desired dates for stages in the process may be suggested, the actual dates are totally flexible. If people observe NDA's, most of the process will be completely invisible to the outside world. Of course, very few businesses are 100% leak free, and grapevines will add details that may in the right ballpark or utter bollocks. In general, the less you hear, the more likely it is to happen.
Just out of curiosity how much do you think it would have cost (rough ballpark from your experience) a prospective buyer to go through all the due diligence etc. to get to the point we are alledgedly at where a takeover is very close?

If they've used top end accountants and lawyers, and for a deal of this size, around £500k-£1m.

SAM KNAAAARRRS... Acorah talked shite

Whose mum...
Most mums can't keep a secret
Hence never really got the term
It’s a Middle English word. Derived from mummer which was an early form of mime, hence silent marra. Nowt to do with mams at all.
