not seen anyone say they know FPP? Anything coming out will be from club side imo

This. I know one person in real life who has messaged me about the takeover, and another I just know off here. Both have intimated that at least one of fpp is involved, and both are getting it from people they know at the club. Now, those sources might be wrong, but it certainly isn't beyond the reasons of possibility that people in the club could talk, last time we had directors telling all and sundry how rich we'd be. Hopefully it's a bit more under wraps this time, but I'd be amazed if no one at all was saying anything to anyone. Other than Reiver randomly seeing a WhatsApp message last time I don't think anyone has claimed to be hearing anything from FPP unless I've missed it

To be fair to Short the only person to blame for Johnson was the man himself.

I agree, Johnson's actions were the total responsibility of Johnson.

I actually don't hold Short in a bad light. I think that his intentions for us were good, he supported the club financially and he also undoubtedly received benefits in the greater scheme of his business, but some of his appointments were very poor and the constant merry-go round was very very costly. In the end he appeared to try and do the right thing and maintained his professional and dignified outlook throughout. You could never accuse him of being a self publicist or a bullshitter. I thought that Bain was an awful appointment and he was lost, but ultimately he got his bonus and payoff.

Yes Short coughed up a lot if cash and wrote off a debt when he sold the club to Donald..so all good stuff.

We brought in a lot of poor players for relatively big money and missed out on others we should have brought in.. so Short imho was very badly advised.

I think he was passed off in the season in the championship, cos if he just given a bit more money for a decent keeper and striker we would probably not have been relegated... but by then he had closed the coffers

I think we all know from which insider gobshite this has come from. There is a common denominator here and that's what worries me, he knows how to handle PR and the effect of social media. He could play us like a fiddle. I'm not saying he is, but its the one thing stopping me getting carried away at this moment in time

The fact we are still laying people off has me
Concerned nothing is happening.
Granted companies somethings have a cull when being sold as it makes the books look better and they get a better price however, at the
Moment there is going to be nobody left at the club.
Donald and Methven need to stay away from Sunderland because what they have down to the club is criminal.

If talks are ongoing I can't imagine the prospective buyers not being consulted on redundancies.

I suspect that ES had a good tax write off plan via various holding companies and intercompany loans. He is a sharp cookie but just not a football man, his appointments and the signings whom ended up having no residual value is what screwed us. Along with ridiculous situations like Alvarez and Johnson.

These things would probably of had a massive effect on ES selling up

Thats the thing there is going to be people
In the club that know stuff we are getting to hear bits on here second and third hard but thats doesnt mean its not true. I think people that are hearing first hand are having to be extremely careful what they are revealing to people.
Then again if someone had a secret filming of SD stating everything that was happening in the takeover some people on here would still claim it was bullshit.
The biggest problem its the people on here can tell the difference between the likes of prehab26 who obviously get genuine info and the bullshitters that just make anything up

It has to be a real concern now. Everything that we KNOW has happened is consistent with a club that is desperately short on cash.

Can take it one of two ways imo. Either 1) nothing is happening, or certainly nothing remotely imminent or 2) the finances post lockdown are so bad that these are vital cuts just in case it doesn't go through because he literally couldn't afford to keep running it. If it's 2 then at least that suggests he would (you'd imagine) be desperate to get a sale through. If things are that bad, it's a big risk hanging on.

Only thing with the kit man side of things though, is it not a requirement now that players handle their own kit etc? Thought I heard something mentioned about that and, if so, it could mean a role or two being genuinely redundant. I mean, you'd hope a club would stick by people until things get back to near normal, but with no timescale for that maybe it's a necessary thing to do?

Can't see a player taking his kit home and washing it himself like!

sounds good mate, out of interest have you got any examples of any genuine info regarding the takeover?

There are those all who hear little bits... then embellish it out of proportion. These people milk that little bit of info for all its worth... in some respect they are the worst as they are perverting a fact for their own ends
