The salary cap is being used as an excuse imo. You could drive a tank through efl rules. We can lie down and take it or be creative and potentially gain promotion. If new owners do come I bet they treat it differently.
Yip
You could say that these owners knowingly have raped the academy players to save them putting their hands in their own pockets.
You’re better than your language.

My argument is not the figures @Grumpy Old Man you are far better than me on them, its what you said about ES being wrong in gambling with the FC’s future and ruining our club, don’t get me wrong it’s a valid argument, although personally I feel ES put his money where his mouth was and Safc probably cost him close to £200m.

What my gripe with you, Is because you are an intelligent man, but you don’t seem to seem to see what I see which imo is so obviously a lot worse an owner that came with one intention to make money, he bought us in July 2018, he had people trying to sell within months and has destroyed the fabric of our club for years to come.

Prime example I know someone who was interviewed for the job of head of Academy he told me our Academy has been set back Probably 10 years in the 2 years the owners been here.
Short wanted safc to be self sustaining but lacked the knowledge and appointments to make it happen. It was a worldwide foot in the door for his other business interests. He’d still be here now if he could’ve kept safc in the PL under its own steam. Your figures arent too far off the mark.
The current regime have only been interested in selling the club at a profit. They had potential buyers at their first home game. They’ll always have one eye on Oxford, which we all understand.

I think we all know from which insider gobshite this has come from. There is a common denominator here and that's what worries me, he knows how to handle PR and the effect of social media. He could play us like a fiddle. I'm not saying he is, but its the one thing stopping me getting carried away at this moment in time
Kildare?

As far as air know mate and it's a travesty tbh. I'm not sure about the other but I believe the u11s and 12s were fairly highly regarded.
They'll probably be next.
The thing is it doesnt matter how good they are at that age.The football played bears no relation to what is required at around 18yoa,when it becomes real footy. Now i have said this before ,and i bring the wrath of parents who have kids at the young age in our academy, but its my opinion. For me i would rather go down the brentford way of allowing the lads to play in local youth football. Then bringing them in at 17/18 to play as a B team against local decent quality teams.

I’ve counted 7 people in this thread who claim to know something about FPP or their people.

Amazing to think that these American finance billionaires find enough time to talk to all of theses people. Fair play to them

.
Didn't say that, just Semenyo is shite, probably does have bags of ability but is thick as mince

Or maybe they all know the same person who has been told something or other
Plenty thick players out there. Rather have a quick one back than Danny Graham. Be great to think we can aim higher but not with SD in charge imo.

Totally agree. There's necessary cost-cutting and there's being a right tight twat that doesn't help the product he's bought. I read a story somewhere that apparently when he took over at Eastleigh he stopped providing bottles of water for the players during training because they weren't drinking the full bottle.
Whats wrong with providing water bottles and a tap instead of paying tens of thousands for bottled water? Not to mention the damage to the planet.

I suspect that ES had a good tax write off plan via various holding companies and intercompany loans. He is a sharp cookie but just not a football man, his appointments and the signings whom ended up having no residual value is what screwed us. Along with ridiculous situations like Alvarez and Johnson.

To be fair to Short the only person to blame for Johnson was the man himself.
